Why Did Wang Anshou Kill His Parents? Court Ruling Contradicts Jiang Group's Attempt to Blame Falun Gong (Photo)

Wang Anshou, a worker in Taishan Machinery Factory in Xintai City, Shandong Province killed his parents with a spade due to a relapse of a mental disorder. After Jiang's group began their attempts to defame Falun Gong in July of 1999, the authorities used the incident to discredit Falun Gong, claiming Wang Anshou killed his parents as a result of practicing Falun Gong. Consequently, this case was included in the 1,400 cases the authorities compiled to slander Falun Gong. Nevertheless, reviewing the divorce verdict of the civil case given by the Xintai City People's Court on November 10, 1999, we can clearly see the government claim that "Wang Anshou killed his parents as a result of his practicing Falun Gong" seriously distorts the facts.

The Xintai City People's Court civil case verdict given November 10, 1999 states, "After investigation it is clear that the defendant (Wang Anshou) suffered from a mental disorder in 1988 and was treated for more than two months in Taiann City Mental Hospital. Since 1996, the defendant had recurrences of mental illness and had gone to Taiann City Mental Hospital many times for treatments. The defendant started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. In April 1998 he had another recurrence of mental illness and killed his parents with a spade. The defendant was then sent to Taiann City Mental Hospital where he remains under the hospital's care. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia..."

"It is the court's observation that the defendant had suffered from a mental disorder before he got married and had tried to hide the fact. After getting married, the defendant had recurrences of mental illness many times and had had problems for a long time trying to cure his mental disorder. The defendant killed his parents with a spade when his mental illness relapsed..."

We can see clearly from the verdict that the court's investigation confirmed that Wang Anshou killed his parents because of a recurrence of mental illness, not because he had taken up the practice of Falun Gong. After Jiang's group started persecuting and slandering Falun Gong, some lawless personnel twisted the facts to implicate Falun Gong, rampantly spreading rumors and poisoning people who didn't understand the truth.

According to insiders, Jiang's group used Wang Anshou's case to fabricate lies and reported this incident in the Xintai City TV station, the Qilu Nightly News Newspaper, the Central News and other media in order to deceive and poison people.
