Mr. Du Guolin, Paralyzed by Torture at Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp, is Still Detained

Mr. Du Guolin is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Tonghua City in Jilin Province. He was illegally arrested in May 2003 while clarifying the truth, and was sentenced to forced labor for one and a half years. He was taken to Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in September 2003.

During the six months in the forced labor camp, Mr. Du Guolin firmly refused to cooperate with the evil. He insisted on clarifying the truth and practicing the Falun Gong exercises. Because of this, he suffered a variety of tortures. When his family visited him for the first time, they saw that his eyes were bloody. His family was shocked when they visited him again in early March 2004. One of his legs was paralyzed, and he was carried by criminals to the meeting room. He could not see clearly out of his right eye, his right hand was so weak that he could not use chopsticks, his face was very pale, and his whole body was so skinny that he was almost unrecognizable.

Mr. Du's child questioned one of the criminals that carried him, "How dare you torture my father to such an extent?" The criminal withdrew and was afraid to speak, but he said, "Our team is on the first floor and your father might be hurt by the dampness." Then this criminal pointed at a policeman at the door and said, "He is the head of this team, and you can go and ask him." Mr. Du's child walked to the team head and with tears in his eyes he said, "My father didn't have any illnesses at home; how did he get like this? We want to bail him out." The team head shouted at Mr. Du's child, "Do you believe what I say?! Go and ask your father! If you want him to be bailed out, you have to wait until the People's Congress and Political Consultative Conferences finish!"

In mid March, Mr. Du's family received a notice asking them to send money to the hospital for a checkup fee for Mr. Du Guolin. They witnessed three labor camp policemen beating and kicking Mr. Du to force him to put on his clothes, even though he was very emaciated and could not take care of himself. Mr. Du's family didn't want to see him suffer, and gave each of these policemen some money. They said to the police, "We beg you not to beat him any more. Let us help him put on his clothes." In late March Mr. Du's family received a notice from the labor camp again, saying that Mr. Du Guolin was suffering from an array of illnesses, some affecting his internal organs, and that he had become paralyzed. The labor camp asked his family to find their local police station for the bail-out procedure. Mr. Du's family found the relevant department to process the procedure and sent the papers to the labor camp on April 1. As of April 7, they still hadn't heard any news from the labor camp.

It is known that most Dafa practitioners that are kidnapped by Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp are tortured. All those that are bailed out have to write the "five statements," saying that they will give up practicing Falun Gong or they won't be released. We hereby appeal to everyone around the world to work together to rescue these practitioners in detention.
