Remembering Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Zhande

(Clearwisdom.net) I was shocked and very sad when I heard the news that Mr. Wang Zhande, a Falun Gong practitioner from Chongqing City, had died from persecution. I would like to share some stories about him.

Wang Zhande, 65 years old, was a veteran Party member who worked for Chongqing City Nanan Electricity Power Bureau.

I met Mr. Wang in the Xipingshan Labor Camp's Strictly Monitored Group. He started practicing Falun Dafa prior to 1996. In the summer of 2000, he went to Beijing to validate Dafa. As a result, he was arrested and imprisoned in Chongqing City Nanan District Detention Center for a long period. In July of 2000, he was sent to the Xishanping Labor Camp Strictly Monitored Group. On August 10, the Strictly Monitored Group dissolved, and he was sent to another division for further persecution.

When Mr. Wang was imprisoned in Nanan District Detention Center, officials from Nanan District government and Nanan Electricity Power Bureau threatened that if he did not give up practicing Dafa, he would be sentenced to forced labor. They also forced him to choose between Dafa and Party membership. Mr. Wang chose Dafa.

When Mr. Wang was at Xishanping Labor Camp, he was transferred to several divisions. No matter which division he was in, he always insisted clarifying the truth to save others. He always cared for others, fellow practitioners or other prisoners. When his family visited him and brought him clothes, snacks and cash, he always shared the food with others, and gave the clothing to fellow practitioners.

In the year 2000, the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival happened to be on the same day. Chongqing City Labor Camp Administration Bureau, Justice Bureau and Xishanping Labor Camp planned to inspect the prisoners in all the Strictly Monitored Groups. The labor camp carefully prepared some programs for the inspection, and trained prisoners to do military marching to celebrate the holidays. At 8 a.m. on the morning of National Day, before the programs started, Mr. Wang went on stage and sat down to do meditation, which greatly shocked the evil forces.

In November 2000, under the instructions from City "610 Office," Xishanping Labor Camp set up Division No. 7 Group No. 1 to brainwash Dafa practitioners. When police slandered Dafa at the brainwashing class, Mr. Wang stood up and shouted "Falun Dafa is a righteous way," "Falun Dafa is great," "Restore the reputations of Dafa, our Master and Dafa practitioners," and "Stop the persecution, release Dafa practitioners unconditionally."

The police forced Mr. Wang to stand in "army corps" posture, and beat him with police batons. Later the police transferred him to other divisions to continue abusing him. Under the police's instigation, common prisoners tortured Mr. Wang viciously. Mr. Wang died from the internal injuries he received during these beatings.

In addition, we learned that another Dafa practitioner, Li Zetao from Chongqing Jiangjin City, was also tortured to death at Xishanping Labor Camp.
