Indonesia: Practitioners Commemorate the Fifth Anniversary of April 25 Peaceful Appeal (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At 11 a.m. on April 23, 2004, more than 10 Indonesia Falun Gong practitioners held a sit-in appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy for about two and a half hours. On the street opposite to the Chinese Embassy building, practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts once an hour to clear away the evil factors in other dimensions, so as to awaken people's hearts and to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and practitioners in China.

Large banners displayed the theme of the activity. It was to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the peaceful 10,000-practitioner appeal on April 25, 1999 and to call on the Chinese authorities to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and bring Jiang Zemin, Luo Gan, Zhou Yongkang and Liu Jing to justice.

Many overseas Chinese people, especially those that live in Indonesia have been deceived by the slanderous lies about Falun Gong spread by Jiang's group. Few people knew the real story of the 4.25 incident. Jiang's group deliberately politicized the original legal citizens' appeal and manipulated overseas Chinese people's nationalism, to incite hatred among the kind Chinese people against Falun Gong.

With the kind intention to prevent people from being deceived and having misunderstanding towards Falun Gong, Indonesia practitioners have persistently clarified the facts to people over the past five years since the persecution of Falun Gong began in China. They have used their own savings to print large amounts of truth-clarifying flyers. While enduring accusation and ridicule, they persistently hold peaceful appeals outside the Chinese Embassy, hoping to eliminate the hatred in people's hearts against Dafa, including the Embassy officials. They try hard to tell people that Falun Dafa is good. Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful appeals are not intended to get involved in politics, but to uphold freedom of belief and safeguard rights of all people to be able to learn about the facts.

A police officer said that he received orders to come to patrol here, because his boss received complaints from the Chinese Embassy. He said that he was quite familiar with these practitioners who frequently came here to peacefully appeal. Despite hot or cold weather, no matter sunny or rainy, they always observe the regulations. There was no shouting or loud noise. They only demonstrated their exercises following the music played by a small audiotape recorder. Then they dismissed. They never left any trash or beverage can after their activities.

The police officer said that he firmly opposed suppression against unarmed and innocent people. He suggested that practitioners clarify the truth to officials in the Chinese Embassy. A practitioner told him that he had tried many times to clarify the truth to the Embassy officials, but the Embassy officials continued spreading lies to poison Indonesian people, which caused some people who did not know about Falun Gong to be afraid to accept practitioners' truth-clarifying materials. The officer was astonished to hear that. He said that the information was very precious and he himself was eager to learn about Falun Gong because he was deeply touched by this group of people who willingly use their time off work to come here to support human rights and justice.

In the end, the police officer sincerely expressed his wishes to practitioners and encouraged them to uphold justice because freedom of belief is the fundamental right that should be enjoyed by each individual. He said that the police were only acting under orders. They had no intention to disturb them. He said that so many people are willing to practice Falun Gong. The people who work in the Chinese Embassy were also experiencing the pressure and therefore afraid of speaking from their hearts.
