Vancouver, Canada: Practitioners Commemorate April 25 Appeal by Clarifying the Truth and Holding Symbolic Trial of Jiang (Photos)


(Clearwsidom.net) On the 5th anniversary of April 25 appeal, Falun Gong practitioners in Vancouver conducted various commemorative activities. Through these activities, the practitioners explained the facts of April 25 appeal and exposed Jiang's group's lies fabricated to justify the persecution against Falun Gong. The symbolic trial of Jiang revealed his crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and expressed that justice would prevail. During the activities, recitation, chorus and large group practice were also performed to demonstrate the grace of Dafa.

On the evening of April 24, 2004, the commemoration started. Practitioners held a candle light vigil in front of Chinese Consulate. Practitioners from Seattle participated in the vigil after driving 3 hours. The candle light in the wind indicated the journey of Falun Gong practitioners to protest the persecution, persist in the truth and safeguard personal belief during last five years. They call for more worldly people to pay attention to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Drivers in passing vehicles honked their horns to express support.

On April 25, Chinatown in Vancouver appeared busy. Banners and posters were set up in a roadside park. Practitioners explained the facts of appeal of April 25, 1999 in Chinese, Cantonese and English. Ms. Li and Mr. Wei who participated in the 4.25 appeal in 1999 recalled their experiences on stage. They narrated the process that police led practitioners to stand around party leaders' compound and exposed Jiang regime's lies and conspiracy frame.

The then Prime Minister Zhu Rongji met practitioners and agreed to three points of Falun Gong practitioners' request, release arrested Falun Gong practitioners in Tianjin, have the freedom to practice and to allow the publication of Falun Gong books. Both sides reached agreement basically, which was praised by foreign media as openness of Chinese government.

However, the jealous Jiang wrote to members of the Politburo and other leaders on the night of April 25 and gave a speech in a conference of party leaders on June 7, 1999. He framed Falun Gong and initiated the cruelest persecution in history.

In the symbolic trial, witness Falun Gong practitioner Wang Yuzhi and Zhang Tianxiao exposed Jiang's atrocities by naration of their own experience or family member's suffering in China. The purpose of the symbolic trial was to help more people to know the truth and distinguish Jiang's lies.

Two choruses were also performed between events. The songs "Coming for you" and "Falun Dafa is great" caught attention of many passersby.

The 4.25 commemoration activities aroused the attention of many people. Some practitioners distributed 4.25 specific flyers and answered questions at roadside. Many people became knowing the facts of Falun Gong and the persecution.
