Solemn Declaration

I started to practice Falun Dafa in March 1995. Prior to my practicing Falun Gong, I weighed less than 70 pounds because of a stomach ulcer. I had lost the confidence in living and of my future. After learning the Falun Dafa principles, both my mind and body have gone through some tremendous changes; I felt the greatness of our Teacher and miraculous power of Dafa. In July 1999, when Jiang's regime began the persecution of Falun Dafa, my son was unlawfully arrested because of practicing Falun Dafa. He was detained and sentenced to a prison term and was inhumanly tortured. In January 2001, I was also arrested and sent to a brainwashing center. Because of my lack of understanding the Falun Dafa principles, my selfishness, and my being unable to endure painful torture, I did wrong to our Teacher and Dafa and created a bad influence. I am fortunately now awakened and I solemnly declare: All the things I said and wrote which are not according Dafa, since February 24, 2001, the time I was being brainwashed, are null and void. I want to return to Dafa and be a Dafa practitioner, based on Teacher's teaching, during the Fa-rectification period. I will redouble my efforts to compensate for the damage I have caused.

Solemn Declaration

After practicing Falun Dafa for five years, I not only have a healthy body but also understand what is the real purpose of life. However, under the order of Jiang's political group, all levels of the government in the nation participated in the persecution of Falun Dafa: the "610 Office"(1), police, evil persons and people who didn't know the truth about Falun Dafa. They persecuted this peaceful group of people who believe in " Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." Some of the Falun Dafa practitioners were tortured to death. On the night of May 16, 2003, because of distributing the clarifying the truth materials with some of fellow practitioners, I was reported by the head of my village and was arrested by police. I was able to escape and was forced to stay away from home. Police thus placed my house under surveillance. On the evening of September 16, 2003, the captain of the National Security Squadron, together with other policemen, broke into my home and took me by force into a police car. They sent me to a brainwashing center that same night; two people were watching each Dafa practitioners. There was no personal freedom to speak of.

The next day, the "610 Office" sent several practitioners who had given up their belief in Dafa, to make an attempt to brainwash us. When I refused to cooperate with them, they verbally insulted me. They sent a man and a woman to brainwash me together. When I didn't agree with them, they'd torture me, until late in the night for days on end. Later, police used tricks and vicious ideas to torture me day and night. I was tricked into writing a "repentance statement."(2) The people from the "610 Office" and their helpers forced me to watch videotapes that slander Falun Dafa. They told me to write a "self criticizing statement." They threatened me if I refused to write it and said they would send me to a brainwashing class or a forced labor camp. Now I solemnly declare that the things I said and wrote during the brainwashing sessions are null and void. I will follow our Teacher closely and persistently cultivate Dafa to the end. I will redouble my efforts to compensate for the damage I had caused.

(1): "610 Office": an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

(2): repentance statement: In this statement the practitioner is forced to admit remorse for practicing Falun Gong, promise to give up Falun Gong, and never again associate with other practitioners or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.
