(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners in throughout Canada held commemoration activities for the 5th anniversary of the "4.25" appeal in Beijing in 1999. These various activities aroused people's attention. The following is based on RFA special reporter Xi Hong's report from Canada.

Falun Gong practitioners in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto, Canada held series of activities over the weekend to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the appeal of about 10,000 practitioners in Beijing on April 25, 1999. The organizers said that Jiang's regime framed the appeal as besieging party leader's compound and initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

Falun Gong practitioners in Toronto held a candle light vigil in front of the Chinese Consulate in Toronto. They said that the persecution in China presented them on world stage and that their activities opposing the persecution would be an important chapter for safeguarding contemporary China's human rights.

Practitioner: "To commemorate the fellow practitioners suffered and tortured during last five years' persecution in China, restore justice in the human world and safeguard the dignity of humanity, Falun Dafa practitioners outside of China will continue to oppose the violence and atrocities until fellow practitioners in China obtain complete freedom."

More than 200 Falun Gong practitioners wore black and white clothes and held pictures of those practitioners persecuted to death. They had covered their mouth with a piece of black cloth and played the song "Call from heart."

Practitioner Chipkar said, "Covering the mouth with a piece of black cloth symbolizes that the Jiang regime tries to make our supporters in Canada keep silent using hate propaganda and lies."

On Sunday, Falun Gong practitioners in Toronto held a car march "Return Innocence to 4.25 Appeal, Bring Jiang to Justice." Dozens of cars formed a motorcade with banners, balloons and flags on cars in Toronto and nearby areas, which caught the attention of many people.
