Former Liaoning Province Governor Bo Xilai Sued for Crimes of Torture and Genocide, Rejection of Subpoena May Result in Default Judgment
(Clearwisdom.net) Chinese Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai has been sued by Falun Dafa
practitioners for crimes of "Torture, Genocide, and Crimes against
Humanity" in a District of Columbia Court. Because he threw the documents
on the floor when they were delivered, this "refusal to accept legal
documents" may result in a default judgment against him should he not appear before the court as required by law. Falun Dafa practitioners sued Bo Xilai when he visited Washington, DC on
April 22. According to a document signed by United States Court Secretary Ms.
Nancy M. Mayer-Whittington, the defendant Bo Xilai must respond to the suit
within 20 days otherwise he would receive default judgement. Bo Xilai came to America as part of a group that accompanied Vice Premier Wu
Yi to the 15th Sino-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT).
As mayor he personally directed the persecution of Falun Gong in Dalian City,
and as governor he did the same in Liaoning Province. The persecution in these
areas was inhumanly cruel. Bo Xilai is one of the primary individuals
responsible. From July 20, 1999 through April 18, 2004, the confirmed deaths from torture
in Liaoning Province reached 103, the fourth highest in China. The labor camps
and prisons in Liaoning Province, such as Masanjia Labor Camp, Dabei Prison,
Zhangshi Labor Camp, Longshan Labor Camp, and Dalian Labor Camp, are notorious
for their cruel treatment of practitioners. There are recent precedents for putting a Falun Dafa persecutor on trial
without the defendant's attendance. On February 3, 2004, the Ontario Provincial
Court of Canada sentenced Chinese Vice Consular Pan Xinchun in Toronto for the
crimes of slander against Canadian Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Joel Chipkar, and
requested that Pan pay for all the losses and damages. In addition, former Beijing City Mayor Liu Qi was sued in San Francisco for
torture, inhumane mistreatments, unreasonable detention, crimes against
humanity, deprivation of the freedoms of religion and belief, etc. Last year, in
the report of San Francisco Judge Edward M. Chen, Liu Qi was sentenced guilty of
directing brutal tortures towards Falun Dafa practitioners. Currently, United States Falun Dafa practitioners are suing Jiang Zemin, the
primary culprit in the persecution of Falun Gong. Jiang has been sued by Falun
Dafa practitioners for genocide in the United States. Jiang and his "610
Office(1)" are also facing similar suits in Belgium, Spain, Germany,
Taiwan, South Korea, etc. All Chinese officials should know that persecuting Falun Dafa is not allowed.
No matter who is involved in the persecution, we will seek justice with him. Who
ever persecutes Falun Gong can never escape legal punishment. |
