Teacher at the No. 9 Nine Middle School in Zhucheng City, Shandong Province Is Seized by the Authorities

The Zhucheng City police seized a teacher from the No. 9 Middle School in Zhucheng City and a fellow Dafa practitioner Yang Depeng, while in the middle of teaching a class. The police' illegal act has made both teachers and students extremely angry. His wife, Zhang Qingmei, demanded that the police release her husband and the following day the police detained her and sent her to a forced labor camp without trial.

Falun Dafa practitioner Yang Depeng was very kind and outstanding in his work as a teacher. However, on the afternoon of January 2, 2004 around 4 o'clock, while he was teaching his class, he was seized by Captain Xu Guangrong from the Zhucheng City's police task force known as the "Anti Evil Religion Reconnaissance Military Unit." Captain Xu Guangrong searched his desk, took his computer from his office and detained him giving the reason that Yang had typed, "Falun Dafa is great" on his computer. Yang was detained for a month. Police forced his family to pay 3,000 yuan (1) before he was released.

On March 22, 2004, Led by Captain Xu Guangrong, the police once again forcefully removed Yang Depeng from school. The authorities would not give any reason nor follow legal procedures. Their behavior was very aggressive and caused both his colleagues and students to become very angry over the incident.

Yang Depeng's wife, Zhang Qingmei, is also a Dafa practitioner. When she heard the news about her husband's illegal arrest; she went to question the police as to why they had illegally detained her husband. The police were angered by her questions and retaliated against her by arresting her. The next day the police sent her to a forced labor camp without any legal procedure and did not inform her family of her whereabouts.

Song Chengmei, female, forty-three years old, was a former employee of Zhucheng City, Shandong Province Dyeing and Printing Factory. On the afternoon of March 27, 2004, the local police from a task force known as the local "Anti Evil Religion Reconnaissance Military Unit," hijacked Song Chengmei and detained her at the Xinghua Street police station.

In February 2000, because Song Chengmei went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, the police kidnapped her. In the detention center, she was brutally beaten by the public security deputy brigade chief Cao Jinhui. One night, a drunken Cao Jinhui, reeking of alcohol, grabbed Song Chengmei by the hair and brutally beat her with a rubber baton; she was beaten so badly she rolled back and forth on the floor in immense pain. Cao Jinhui continued to beat her till he became tired; he then randomly shocked her with an electric baton. Her face was swollen from the beating and her hair was pulled out in clumps. Her buttocks and legs turned all black and blue and for a long time she could not turn her body while sleeping. In addition to this treatment, she was extorted a sum of money close to ten-thousand yuan.

A former account department member of the factory Song worked at, Wang and others, took advantage of her situation, saying they were following orders from "higher up." They implemented a penalty within the factory and deducted a few hundred Yuan of unemployment funds from her bank account.

Today the persecution continues, on March 27, 2004 at 5 o'clock in the afternoon, Zhucheng City's police task force known as the, "Anti Evil Religion Reconnaissance Military Unit," plain-clothes police, without any reason or legal procedure, arrested her again and detained her at the Xinghua Street police station.
