A Brief Record of Experience Sharing Before the United Nations Human Rights Commission Meeting in Geneva

(Clearwisdom.net) During the time of the United Nations Human Rights Commission meeting, Dafa practitioners from all over the world held a group study of the teachings of Falun Gong and shared experiences on the morning of March 14. Though the schedule was tight, everyone still sensed the importance of sharing and communicating.

American practitioners talked about the situation regarding the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin filed in the USA, including clarifying the facts to political circles, the legal profession, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and different fields in the US, and how they elevated in the course of clarifying the facts. Practitioners started from not knowing what to say, not daring to say anything, not speaking well, not speaking clearly, to starting to say something, trying to say something, until they could express whatever they wanted freely and with confidence. This was through a process of practitioners continuously studying the Fa [Law or Principle], sharing and communicating.

For example, they clarified the facts to lawyers at the annual meeting of the American Bar Association. On the first day, because some practitioners could not speak clearly, did not know the details about the meeting and were worried that they lacked knowledge of the law, the truth-clarification did not proceed very smoothly. However, practitioners were not discouraged. Instead, they saw that some practitioners spoke well with the lawyers. After sharing with one another regarding how to clarify the facts with wisdom, practitioners deepened their understandings. They focused only on how it would benefit the lawyers, and how to help them be saved. With these kinds of thoughts, the truth-clarification work became more effective on the second day.

Some practitioners who are lawyers went into the meeting room as observers to listen to the discussions. On the third day, non-practitioner lawyers began asking practitioners to explain the Jiang case to them before and after the meeting. They also gathered around practitioners during the break to gain a deeper understanding about the case. One of the important subjects shared in the group sharing and communication was the incident that happened in Paris. During the visit of the Chinese leader to France this January, the police in Paris, not knowing the real situation, unreasonably harassed Dafa practitioners. Some practitioners said that the old forces arranged the persecution in Europe towards Dafa from Germany and Iceland, to Paris. The governments of these democratic countries were deceived and stirred up by the evil Jiang regime. The actions they took towards Dafa practitioners who were saving them became more and more severe. All practitioners knew from the perspective of the Fa principles that this would cause serious consequences for these nations and their populations in the future. This had nothing to do with testing Dafa practitioners, but was designed to ruin the worlds people.

As Dafa practitioners in the Fa-rectification period, saving sentient beings is our responsibility. Thus, we really have to seriously think about the question of just how great our responsibility here is. Where are our weaknesses? It has been more than a month since the incident. We have to seriously reflect, look within, and consider this question. If we don't enhance our understanding from the Fa principles, it will be hard to correct the serious mistakes made by the community of everyday people in France.

US practitioners mentioned that practitioners in Canada and North America regularly hold large group gatherings in different cities. Beside this, practitioners at every exercise site are also keen on group Fa-study and experience sharing. Because they emphasize group Fa-study and experience sharing, they can advance as one body and avoid conflicts between practitioners, so that they can fully manifest the power of the whole. Therefore, practitioners can successfully accomplish their goals by mutual coordination, even though there are many specific items for truth-clarification and they lack manpower. Every individual practitioner in Canada might not be very special on his or her own, but when they form one body, the power is really enormous. Practitioners in Taiwan also mentioned the power of coordination as one body in their experience of truth-clarification through phone calls.

One practitioners said, "The fundamental reason for the French incident is still because of practitioners' attachments. The secondary reason relates to our cultivation practice. If we don't build an environment to study the Fa and practice cultivation diligently and consistently, we cannot understand the Fa principles clearly. As a result, we cannot treat what happens with righteous thoughts and righteous deeds. If we do not form one body from the perspective of the Fa and are still self-centered, we will create barriers and obstacles between practitioners. Consequently, there will not be a pure and righteous field, so the evil will surely take advantage of it and cause losses between us."

Another practitioner said, "We know that Master has used the United Nations as an example to teach us not to be attached to results, and not to depend on everyday people. Many practitioners thus think that the activities being held in Switzerland are not important. Therefore, the practitioners who have joined the activities in Geneva this year are clearly fewer than before." Another practitioner said, "Falun Gong is being severely persecuted in China. If there were no Dafa practitioners appealing during the United Nations Human Rights Conference, how could that be?"

Another practitioner said: "Practitioners who cannot come do not pay as much attention as before. They do not focus on the Human Rights Commission meeting or clarify the truth to related groups in their own countries. And some practitioners who came to Geneva did not pay much attention in advance. They only thought of joining the activities, but did not realize their importance."

Actually, the activities held in Geneva this time are very important, because the Senate of the United States has just passed Resolution 530, which calls on the US government to condemn China's human rights record in The United Nations Human Rights Conference. Australia is the chair nation of the Human Rights Conference. Practitioners in Australia realized the importance of clarifying the truth in time. They clarified the facts to the delegates of the Australian government. Other practitioners collected signatures in different areas. They appealed to Parliament, sent letters to MPs and unofficial organizations, and sent righteous thoughts hourly.

Other practitioners mentioned that we should emphasize sending righteous thoughts as a whole. For example, the practitioners who brought the case against Jiang to court felt great pressure at that time. However, after practitioners worldwide sent forth righteous thoughts together for the tragic case that occurred in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp and protested in front of all Chinese consulates and Embassies at the same time, the practitioners in Chicago felt much release from the pressure of the Jiang case and the work of clarifying the facts in different areas could thus become more effective.

Many practitioners suggested that Dafa practitioners globally send righteous thoughts every hour to support the practitioners in Geneva.
