"Now I Understand Why Falun Gong Practitioners Need To Clarify The Truth"

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Dafa practitioner teaching in a U.S. medical school. One day, a Chinese lady named Li came to apply for a job in my lab. I was very satisfied after reading her resume and decided to employ her to be my technician. However, when she came for an interview, as we had made an appointment, she was unexpectedly detained by a security guard of the school. Hearing this, I immediately went there to enquire.

The moment I stepped into the security office, I was surprised to see that Li was in tears. Security guards told me that Li was detained because she was not allowed to enter the school. I remember that Li quit her former job because she was on bad terms with her boss, who was also in my school. I seldom asked my employees' former boss about their situation, because I would like to start fresh and give them the benefit of the doubt.

Because I didn't inquire about the situation of her former boss, I didn't know that a notice was sent to the school's security office to ban her from entering the school anymore (our school is a private one) after she quit her former job. Moreover, Li didn't know about the notice either. I knew nothing about what happened to Li and her former boss, but I was sure that it was unfair to treat Li this way since she was ignorant about the notice. Li collapsed totally and felt very humiliated. She even wanted to commit suicide right then. I persuaded her to calm down, and she seemed to get better gradually. Later she was sent to a hospital for observation.

Two days later, she called me to explain why she could not control herself. It is because she suffers from panic attacks. Those who suffer from this psychological problem will have difficulty in controlling themselves when they encounter any unexpected events. Sometimes there is even a danger to their life for these patients. I soothed her and told her about the way Falun Gong practitioners live. Previously, her head was full of slander against Falun Gong by Jiang's group, such as "self immolators," "murders," etc. After hearing what I said, her mind became more stable. Finally she asked me whether she would feel better when encountering anything that might make her panic, if she thought of what I told her. I told her that the best way was to read Zhuan Falun or just to recite "Falun Dafa is good" in her heart.

One month later, she called me again and told me she had found a job in a cancer research institute near my school. Then she told me the following story: when she went to an interview in that institute, she accidentally entered the territory of our school and was immediately detained by a security guard. In spite of her explanation, she was sent by the security guard to the local police station, and was detained there for 6-7 hours until her son bailed her out. She told me that it was so unbelievable that she could behave so cool-headedly under these circumstances, because what she experienced was quite traumatic. At that time she remembered my words to recite "Falun Dafa is good" in her mind, and she managed to steady her nerves this way. She didn't feel a long time had passed when her son came to pick her up. From then on, she felt nothing would cause her panic attacks to flare up any more.

She said that she would sue the medical school and get back her reputation. I persuaded her that she should do it from the angle of not letting more people be treated so unfairly and then the effect of the lawsuit would be better. We should forgive those who once treat us unfairly but try our best to prevent such things from happening again to more people.

At last I told her once more, "If you recite 'Falun Dafa is good' in your mind, you will calm down soon." She said that she would really like to work for a person like me, but unfortunately she could not work in that medical school anymore. Then she continued, "It is harmful to people, particularly to those who didn't understand Falun Gong like me, that Chinese authorities suppress and slander Falun Gong. Now I understand why Falun Gong practitioners need to clarify the truth. What you are doing is for the sake of people like us, and I will go to clarify the truth with you together."
