The Power of Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts Together

(Clearwisdom.Net) Hewan Forced Labor Camp of Wuhan City is one of the
major places specializing in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in
Hubei Province. Although Dafa practitioners have been suffering from various
inhumane tortures there, they continue sending forth righteous thoughts together
to prevent cellmates and the police from doing vicious deeds. In early spring 2002, the labor camp escalated the persecution of
practitioners. Mr. Liu Huasong had been on a hunger strike protesting the
persecution for more than a month. Although he was very weak, he still kept
reciting the Fa and sending forth righteous thoughts every day. All
practitioners who had been locked in the same area became a team. They started
their own hunger strike and began studying the Fa and sending righteous thoughts
together every day. As a result, all cellmates, except cellmate leader Luo,
stopped their barbarous acts against practitioners. Luo had been involved in the
persecution of practitioners many times in order to seek rewards from the police
for either reporting on practitioners or by instigating other cellmates to
harass or beat practitioners. For this he sought to have his labor camp term
shortened. The following story records how Luo suffered retribution twice one day as a
result of his vicious deeds. One day, all practitioners in Luo's team refused to do the forced labor. When
Luo went to report to the police, he fell down at the entrance to the stairs.
Although he became the laughing stock among his cellmates, he still did not wake
up. Instead, he vented his anger on practitioners. At 7:00 PM that day, other
people went to work, and the environment was very quiet. Practitioners started
sending forth righteous thoughts. When Mr. Liu Huasong was holding up his palm,
suddenly Lou came back to the cell. He exerted all his strength to wrestle Liu's
hand down, attempting to stop Liu from sending forth righteous thoughts. At that
time, Liu was extremely weak from being on a hunger strike for more than a
month. All other Dafa practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts to support Liu
so that Luo would eventually stop his brutal acts. That night Luo fell down again when he went to the restroom. When he tumbled
on the ground, he was hurt badly and lost the ability to walk. One of his legs
quickly swelled up very badly. He was in so much pain he cried all night. The
next day he requested to go to the hospital. Usually, cellmates with this
situation would be allowed to see a doctor outside the labor camp on the same
day they were injured. but the police officer who was supposed to be on duty was
not there. Two days later, he was sent to hospital and it was discovered that
his knee was fractured. Later on he asked Dafa practitioners privately if his suffering was due to
retribution. Both practitioners and other cellmates said, "yes."
Practitioners also told him that "good is rewarded with good and evil with
evil" is a principle of the universe. This story was a good lesson not only
for Luo but also to the other police and cellmates. Since then, those policemen
and cellmates who learned from this incident restrained themselves from doing
vicious deeds against practitioners. Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic
retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions,
is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic
of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe
will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such
as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated
another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet
due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder
of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who
persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law
requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by
reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution. March 3, 2004
