Falun Dafa Association, recently received an Ottawa Community Award for her
outstanding contributions in the area of promoting health, safeguarding human
rights and building a peaceful community. On the evening of April 21, 2004,
Canadian MP Marlene Catterall attended the award ceremony of the celebration
activity for the 3rd anniversary of "National Volunteers
Week," held in the Nepean West Community Center. Falun Gong practitioner Cindy Chen (middle) receives a
community award The award highly commended Ms. Cindy Chen's hard work in using various
measures, including writing articles, translating and holding photo exhibitions
to benefit many people by introducing the principle of
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and the beauty of Falun Dafa to
community residents. The award also recognized her continuous effort in calling
on Canadian society to help end the Jiang regime's persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Cheng told a reporter: "I hope that people can gain an overall
picture of the human rights abuses of Falun Gong practitioners in China and
provide help to end this persecution."
