(Clearwidsom.net) Wang Chuan, a graduate of Modern Physics Department at the Chinese University of Science and Technology , has been excluded for entrance into postgraduate program by authorities at the institute on three separate occasions. In 2000, the school annulled his status as a qualified candidate for the Master's Degree program due to his refusal to renounce Falun Gong. In 2001, the school did not allow him to take the entrance exams. In 2002, when Mr. Wang registered for his studies in the Physics and Mathematics Institute of the Chinese Science Academy in Wuhan City, he was denied again for his refusal to write a statement defaming Falun Gong as required by the institute in the second round of the entrance exam.

The following is a personal account by Wang Chuan:

My name is Wang Chuan. I started studying in the Modern Physics Department at the Chinese University of Science and Technology in 1996. I have been practicing Falun Gong since August 1998. In September 1999, I went to Beijing to appeal along with a few fellow practitioners. The police stopped us at the Hefei Train Station and escorted us back to campus.

In 2000, our school administrators started recommending graduates for the Master's program. In light of students' average grades, I was to be admitted to the Master's program directly without taking the entrance exams. However, authorities at the institute stripped away my status as a qualified candidate. In 2001, when I tried to register for the entrance exams, the school rejected my application again due to my practice of Falun Gong. For the same reason, one of my classmates was also rejected.

In March 2002, I found a temporary job in the Physics and Mathematics Institute of the Chinese Science Academy in Wuhan City. I took the entrance exams for the upcoming Master's Degree program. My grade in the first round was above the qualifying criteria set by the province. The institute demanded a written statement from all candidates, including myself, in the second round regarding Falun Gong. I had refused to defame Falun Gong as required by the authorities at the institute. They didn't admit me into the postgraduate program.

Both the Chinese University of Science and Technology and the Physics and Mathematics Institute are affiliated with the Chinese Science Academy. The policy that they have implemented against Falun Gong practitioners was directed by Jiang and his followers. I hope that the school officials in the education system will wake up quickly. I hope that they will stop forcing the students to defame Falun Gong, and stop helping Jiang to commit crimes against innocent people.
