Dafa Practitioner Mr. Tan Yanjun Paralyzed by Torture

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Tan Yanjun, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested three times and experienced all kinds of torture while in detention. As a result, he suffered a heart attack and a perforated eardrum. Currently, he is completely paralyzed and can't look after himself; however, Hegang First Detention Center still refuses to release him.

On March 1, 2000, Mr. Tan was put in Hegang First Detention Center. While in detention, he was tortured to the point that he became paralyzed and lost consciousness for 9 days. Fearing to be held responsible for his death, the police asked his family to pay 2000 Yuan before releasing him.

On January 9, 2002, Mr. Tan was arrested and sent to Hegang First Detention Center again. Li Shujiang, director general of Gongnong Police Substation, often tortured him in an attempt to extort confessions from him. Because of the severe torture, Mr. Tan suffered a heart attack, and his eardrum was broken. Medical assessments of his injuries by Hegang People Hospital are available as evidence.

Mr. Tan was later illegally sentenced to 9 years in prison, even though he has already become totally paralyzed and can't move a bit. He can't eat normally or look after himself. He has to lie on the floor of the detention center. At present, his life is in extreme danger, but Hegang First Detention Center still will not allow his family to see him.
