Grasp Every Chance to Clarify the Truth

(Clearwisdom.net) People come by my house frequently to introduce suitors to my daughter, and I always seize these opportunities to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to them. After noticing that I have not mentioned anything about marriage half way through these meetings, they often kindly remind me of the reason they are here and ask me not to confuse the priorities. I always tell them, "This is more important than marriage, for it relates to the eternity of one's life. Whether or not this relationship works out between the young couple, we will always be friends. Understanding the truth is the priority."

I feel that we should first make a good impression before clarifying the facts to people. This facilitates their acceptance. Let me share two short stories with you.

When I was on the bus one day, I saw an elderly man trying strenuously to stand in the moving bus. I gave my seat to him, and he was very grateful. I later clarified the truth to him, and gave him some literature and VCD's. He quickly pulled money out of his pocket and said, "Not only do you risk your safety, but you also spend quite a lot of money." I told him that we do not accept donations and are just doing good deeds. I also asked him to share this information with his friends. He was deeply grateful and said solemnly, "I will definitely accomplish this great deed."

One day I saw a man pushing a bike loaded with sugar canes up a hill and offered to lend a hand. He was extremely grateful when seeing perspiration all over my face and, moreover, that I was going in the opposite direction to help him. I took the opportunity to clarify the truth while we were pushing the bike together. He suddenly realized and said, "People who practice Falun Gong have been arrested, imprisoned, and sentenced, yet they never give up. You are safeguarding the truth. It is extraordinary that Falun Gong practitioners risk their lives just to help us. I will definitely take a good look at these materials." He often stopped by my house afterwards to pick up truth clarification materials to read, and he does not hesitate to tell others the goodness that Falun Dafa brings.
