UK: An MEP Signs a Letter to Appeal to France to Protect Falun Gong Practitioners' Human Rights and Uphold French Traditional Freedoms (Photo)


(Clearwisdom.net) A British MEP Kris Davis, replied to Falun Gong practitioners about a letter he sent to the French government stating "France, please uphold freedom." He wrote, "I am deeply regretful about the French government bowing to the pressures from China and arresting a large number of peaceful people who were not against any public laws. Such behavior is against the foundation principles of the French State, 'Liberty, Equality, Fraternite."

This letter refers to the incident that took place earlier this year when Chinese Leader, Hu Jintao visited Paris The French government, under pressure from China, arrested Falun Gong practitioners distributing flyers on the streets, because the flyers exposed the brutal persecution against Falun Gong practitioners in China. French police also apprehended those practitioners who were just walking along the streets because they were wearing yellow scarves.

Mr. Davis demanded that the French government look into this incident and unconditionally apologize to Falun Gong practitioners.
