Chengdu Practitioner Ms. Zhou Qifeng Dies of Persecution
(Clearwisdom.net) Chengdu City Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Qifeng
encountered harassment and persecution by corrupt local officials and died in
injustice on September 20, 2003. Ms. Zhou Qifeng, 74 years old, resided in the living quarters of Chengdu City
Baimasi Xinhua Printing Factory. Zhou Qifeng was arrested in the days leading up
to National Day 2002 (October 1) in front of the local Jiulitihongqi franchise
and was taken to Yingmengkou Police Station. Later she was placed under criminal
detention at Chengdu City detention center, followed by security detainment. She
repeatedly asked the jail guards to notify her family to bring more clothes for
her since she was dressed in only a thin layer and the weather was becoming
cold. However, her requests were denied. The elderly lady was so cold that her
face turned blue. The police tried to force her to write and say things
slanderous to Dafa. She refused to do so and exposed the police officers'
actions as well as compassionately clarifying the truth to the police officers. After she was released, her neighborhood committee Party officials started to
monitor her actions closely. Towards the end of April 2003, authorities from
Xinhua Printing Factory tried to threaten and frighten her, saying that if she
did not give up her belief, she would be placed in a brainwashing class. She
knew the cruelty of brainwashing classes and under extreme distress and fright,
she checked into a hospital so that she could avoid being sent to a brainwashing
center. At the hospital, they could not find any illness so she was discharged.
Living in constant fear of being arrested and placed in a brainwashing center,
she died on September 20, 2003.
