Colorado: Dafa Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the morning of May 13, 2004, Colorado Dafa practitioners joyfully gathered outside the front gate of the Denver State Capitol to celebrate the fifth World Falun Dafa Day and Colorado Falun Dafa Month. As Falun Gong has spread rapidly in Colorado, Governor Bill Owens proclaimed May 2004 to be Colorado Falun Dafa Month.

At the celebration ceremony, practitioners first performed the exercises. Many primary and high school students and tourists visiting the State Capitol passed by and felt the grace of Falun Dafa. They happily accepted materials clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa. Some students followed the exercise movements. A weeklong photo exhibit entitled "Falun Dafa in Colorado" was held at the main hall of the State Capitol. Tourists had an opportunity to gain deeper understanding of the wide spread of Falun Dafa around the world, Jiang's group's brutal persecution and Falun Gong practitioners' great compassion and tolerance.

Host Mr. Fuger talked about Falun Dafa in Colorado and the Jiang group's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Mr. Fuger also thanked Governor Owens for proclaiming May 2004 to be Falun Dafa Month. He also thanked Senator Ron Tupa and 19 more state senators for jointly passing No. SR04-010 Resolution, which condemns the Jiang group's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The resolution was unanimously passed by 64^th session of the Senate of Colorado on April 30. Mr. Dunst read the governor's proclamation and the Senate's resolution. The Vice President of Colorado "Friends of Falun Gong," Mr. Parker, gave a speech at the press conference. He expressed appreciation for the governor's proclamation for Falun Gong and the Senate's unanimous passing of a resolution condemning China's violation of human rights and the persecution of Falun Gong. He also mentioned that Jiang and members of "610 Office" have been sued for genocide in the US, and hoped all people to support the lawsuit.

After the ceremony, Falun Gong practitioners held a simple Thank-you Lunch at the coffee house in the State Capitol, expressing thanks to the Colorado government and people for their support for Falun Gong and their proclamation. Nearly 20 employees from the governor's office and state council attended. All attendees tasted a big piece of cake for celebrating World Falun Dafa Day and Colorado Falun Dafa Month, and spent an enjoyable time with the practitioners.
