By A Falun Gong Practitioner in Texas

(Clearwisdom.net) The "Van Tour to Support the Lawsuit Against Jiang Zemin" initiated from Houston arrived at San Antonio, Texas on the morning of May 19, 2004, Wednesday. At 10 am, reporters from the CBS TV station arrived more than 10 minutes earlier than scheduled while Falun Gong practitioners were making preparations at the small square in front of City Hall. Reporters from FOX TV arrived a little later.

Local media covered events about Falun Dafa many times in the past and many of them knew the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. However, the reporters were shocked when seeing the exhibition of Jiang group's torture methods used on Falun Gong practitioners in China. They specially requested a practitioner who was part of the exhibit to turn on the switch of the electric baton in order to have local people see and imagine the brutal torture occurring in China.

Passersby stopped to watch and asked for information. Even passersby across the street walked over to take a look and get more information.

At noon, the van tour arrived at Austin, the capitol of Texas and held a press conference along with local practitioners to expose Jiang's inhumane persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Right after, a symbolic trial of Jiang Zemin was held. Two practitioners demonstrated the torture methods frequently used by the authorities against Falun Gong practitioners in China.

The press conference was held in front of Texas' Capitol building, located downtown. There were many passersby and government staff. The exhibition of the torture scenes caught the attention of many people, who came forward to inquire and watch. Every one of them was shocked. A local TV station channel 36 interviewed Falun Gong practitioners. The Reporters said that they knew about the persecution in China but never realized the torture was so cruel. They were moved by Falun Gong practitioners' courage. They had tears in their eyes during the interview and expressed their support to practitioners.

After ending the activity in Austin, the practitioners of the van tour went to Waco, a small city in mid-Texas. President Bush's ranch is not far from the city. People of the city knew about Falun Dafa and showed their support. A few years ago, the mayor issued proclamation for Falun Dafa Day. Local media reported Falun Gong positively and exposed the persecution in China.

When Falun Gong practitioners arrived at the city, two ABC reporters were waiting there. The practitioners quickly set up the exhibition of the torture scenes. The two reporters interviewed the practitioners attentively and reported on Jiang's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners from a new angle.
