Germany: Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) Reports that Hong Kong Woman Jailed in China for Distributing Falun Gong Leaflets
(Clearwisdom.net) DPA reported on May 17, 2004, Monday that a Hong Kong
female Falun Gong practitioner, Fu Xueying was imprisoned in China for handing
out Falun Gong flyers. The report stated, "The Hong Kong husband of a Falun Gong
follower jailed for handing out leaflets in China pleaded Monday to be allowed
to see his wife. Fung Chi-man says he has not seen or heard from wife Fu Xueying,
28, since she was arrested in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen six months
ago. He was told earlier this month that she had been jailed for three years but
said he has been refused even a brief meeting with her and has no idea where she
is being detained." Fung said that he repeatedly called the judge responsible for her case and
got no information. Fu, a Falun Gong practitioner moved to Hong Kong last year.
She was arrested for handing out flyers in Shenzhen, a city near Hong Kong and
detained since then. Falun Gong is a peaceful practice system for both mind and body improvement
based on universal principles "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance". Falun Gong
has spread to over 60 countries and over 100 millions people have benefited from
the practice. However, in China, the peaceful and beneficial practice is
persecuted. The former leader Jiang Zemin and his followers carry out the
inhumane persecution, which has resulted in over 960 deaths of documented cases
and hundreds of thousands practitioners being imprisoned in jails, labor camps,
detention centers and mental hospitals. Jiang and his followers have been sued
in many countries for their torture, genocide and crimes against humanity. DPA also stated, "A group of around 25 Falun Gong members marched through
Hong Kong Sunday demanding the release of Fu and another follower arrested in
November for carrying Falun Gong literature from Hong Kong to China."
