San Francisco Falun Gong Practitioners Rally in Front of Chinese Consulate (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) Since the Seventh Court of Appeals in Chicago were
to start the hearing on the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin on May 27, 2004, some
Bay Area Falun Gong practitioners rallied at the Chinese Consulate in San
Francisco after work on May 26. As of May 26, 2004, at least 968 Falun Gong practitioners were recorded as
being killed as a result of the persecution. The practitioners said that they
came to the Chinese Consulate to expose the Jiang regime's crimes. Jiang's
regime has utilized embassies and consulates to extend the persecution to
foreign countries, defame Falun Gong and poison overseas Chinese. The
practitioners rallied here to support the lawsuit against Jiang. Dr. Terri Marsh, lead attorney for Falun Gong practitioners in a
class-action lawsuit against Jiang, said that the appeals court was to start
hearings on May 27. In this lawsuit, the plaintiffs are suing Jiang, who has
directed, ordered and carried out a campaign aiming to eradicate Falun Gong in
China. The defendant's action has lead to murder, kidnapping, and widespread
torture of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners. Torture Exhibit In order to raise awareness of the extensive persecution against Falun Gong
in China that lead to lawsuits against former Chinese president Jiang Zemin,
Falun Gong practitioners are re-enacting methods of torture in the exhibition
"Persecution Meets Principle". Many people who saw the exhibition were shocked at the severity of the
persecution. Some of them were in tears while watching. One American asked,
"If tortures like these continue, such things may happen to any one of us
at any place in the world. What can we do to help those being
persecuted?" Car Tour Helps More People Learn Jiang's Crimes In order to help more people learn about Jiang's crimes of genocide, Bay
Area Falun Gong practitioners set out on a car tour to support the lawsuit
against Jiang, which covered 9 states and 21 cities. They have been
interviewed by over 30 media outlets and demonstrated the torture that Chinese
Falun Gong practitioners are suffering in labor camps and jails. Posting date: 5/28/2004 |
