(Clearwisdom.net) On April 16, 2004, agents from the "610 Office"(1), National Security Bureau, and the Police Department of Fuyang City arrested many Falun Gong practitioners. Six of the practitioners are from Fuyang City: Ms. Li Jijuan (An official of the Education Department of Yengquan District of Fuyang City), Ms. Liu Junying (An employee of The Central Real Estate Company of Fuyang City), Ms. Wu Yufeng (An employee of the Department Store of Fuyang City), Ms. Su Meifeng (An employee of the Transport Company of Fuyang City), Ms. Cha Suzhen (An employee of the Building Company of Fuyang City), and Ms. Wang Chenggong (An employee of the Diesel Engine Factory of Fuyang City). Also, many practitioners' homes were searched and their property confiscated.

Before this action, the police also arrested practitioner Zhang Xia, who resided at building No. 25 of the family unit of the Normal College of Fuyang city, Zhou Lanbin, who resided at the Yongchang Residental Area of Yingquan District of Fuyang City, and Gao Mingxiu, from Chahua Town of Fuyang City. On April 12, Mr. Song, the director of the Police Station of Kouzi Town of Fuyang City, and a policeman by the last name of Xing arrested Mr. Li Hongxi, a teacher at Kouzi Middle School, and another practitioner Li Youbang who is in his seventies, without any legal procedures. The policemen even beat Li Youbang's wife, and boxed her ears.
