Cases of Karmic Retribution in Meihekou City, Jilin Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Having Been in Charge of Persecuting Falun Gong, Meihekou City Mayor Zhang
Hongren, Jilin Province, Dies in Car Accident Zhang Hongren, the Mayor of Meihehou City, Jilin Province, was in charge of
persecuting Falun Gong in the capacity of his former position as the city's
Deputy Secretary General. Zhang was one of the major persons responsible for
carrying out the persecution in the Tonghua Area. Because of the influence of
Zhang Hongren, many local Falun Gong practitioners were illegally sentenced to
forced labor camps or prisons, had fines levied against them or were forced to
stay away from home in order to avoid continued harassment and arrest. Many
families encountered calamity, including the forced breakup of the family unit,
loss of jobs, and serious financial troubles because of Zhang. In the fall of
2003, Zhang Hongren was killed in a car accident while other passengers in the
car, including his wife and daughter, survived. The locals commented that his
death was retribution for persecuting Falun Dafa. Meihekou City Police Chief Lu Zhaolu, Political Protection Section Chief Qi
Huifang, and Former Section Chief Zhang, Run Afoul of the Law and Are Punished Since July 20, 1999, the Shancheng County Public Security Bureau Chief, Lu
Zhaolu, has arrested Falun Dafa practitioners in large numbers and sent them to
detention, forced labor camps, and charged them fines. In mid-December of 1999,
many local practitioners went to the Meihekou City Public Security Bureau Office
to discuss the issue of people not being allowed to appeal for Falun Gong and of
the police illegally arresting practitioners. Under the direction of the City
Bureau, the Shancheng County Public Security Bureau and the County Office
escorted 26 local practitioners back to their hometown and illegally detained
them in the County Office. There they suffered mental persecution and were fined
between 500 and 1,000 yuan (1) each. In late January 2000, Lu Zhaolu deceived
three practitioners into going to the Bureau Office and then arrested them and
sent them to forced labor. One month later, Lu Zhaolu was sent to jail himself
for taking bribes while handling other regular cases. Political Protection Section Chief Qi Huifang of the Meihekou City Public
Security Bureau has worked very hard to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. In
mid-December 1999, practitioners from many counties and villages went to the
Meihekou City Public Security Bureau office to discuss the situation of the
police illegally arresting practitioners. At that time Qi served as an accessory
in arresting more than 100 practitioners who came to appeal and sending them to
detention centers or forced labor camps. Later, Qi was fired from his job for
fraud in dealing with other cases. Now he is at home trying to regain his
health. Former Section Chief Zhang of the No. 206 Detention Center in Meihekou City,
Jilin Province, is in his 40s. He frequently cursed and beat Falun Dafa
practitioners detained at the detention center. Once he hit a practitioner in
the face with a square wooden club, causing the practitioner's mouth to bleed
and their face to swell. Zhang has since been removed from his position and
dismissed from his job. More Cases of Karmic Retribution in Meihekuo City, Jilin Province Since Jiang and his associates started persecuting Falun Gong, Shancheng
County policeman, Wang Qinglong (now transferred out), had been removing every
"Falun Dafa Is Good" poster from local utility poles. Several
practitioners happened to notice an abnormal swelling of this policeman's right
thumb and told him that persecuting Dafa would bring retribution while treating
Dafa with kindness would bring blessings. From then on, that policeman did not
dare to tear down any Dafa posters. Former Committee Chairman Jiang Jie, along with Liu Furong of Dongfang
Street, Shancheng County, constantly removed Falun Dafa flyers whenever they saw
them posted. During 2001-2002, practitioners posted flyers every day and these
two would peel them off every day. At the end of 2002, these two people were
removed from their jobs and had to stay at home. After that they no longer
continued tearing down Dafa posters. In the summer of 2003, posters saying, "Falun Dafa Is Good" were
posted near the railway in Anle Village, Shancheng County. The village people
gathered around and read the posters. One young man, Yu Jin, went up and removed
all the posters. A few days later he was struck by a car and his leg was
injured. Yu was unable to work on the farm. Former Village Head Arrested for Prostitution From 2000 to 2002, former Village Head Xiao Xifa of the Wuqing District's
Dongpuwa Dawuchang Village, Tianjin City, along with other officials, persecuted
Dafa and illegally arrested practitioners. Right before October 1, 2003, he was
arrested for prostitution. He was detained for half a month and had to pay a
fine of 10,000 yuan. (1) yuan (Chinese currency): 500 yuan is the average monthly income for an
urban worker in China. [Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.]
