BBC Monitoring: Falun Gong Stages Hong Kong Protest over Mainland "Crackdown"


Around 500 members of the Falun Gong have marched to the Beijing Liaison Office in Western to protest against the central government's crackdown on the meditation group on the mainland. Falun Gong spokesperson Sophie Xiao said so far more than 900 practitioners have died as a result of their religious beliefs.

(Xiao) They did nothing wrong, but they put them into prison, tortured, even sent to mental hospitals, and some are raped, tortured to death. So far the confirmed cases is about 900 cases, but we believe this is only tip of iceberg.
