Germany: Practitioners Welcome Wen Jiabao and Demand that Jiang Zemin be Brought to Justice (Photos)

Welcome Wen Jiabao, Bring Jiang to justice.
From May 2 to May 6, 2004, Wen Jiabao is visiting Germany. On
May 2, Falun Gong practitioners from Germany and Austria welcomed Wen Jiabao and
asked that Jiang be brought to justice in Munich, the first venue of Wen's
visit, as well as the nearby city Freising.
Near a farm in Freising, over forty Falun Gong practitioners
stood at two junctions of the road to welcome Wen Jiabao. As when Wen visited
the United States last year, the message delivered by Falun Gong practitioners
for this visit remains: "Welcome Wen Jiabao", "Bring Jiang to Justice", and "Falun
Dafa is Good."
About half past one in the afternoon, Wen Jiabao's motorcade
passed through in front of practitioners and two buses filled with young Chinese
students with small Chinese flags in their hands. When they passed in front of
Falun Gong practitioners, some of the students on the buses waved their hands to
show greetings and many cameras took pictures of Falun Gong through the windows
of the vehicles. When they came out from the farm, Wen Jiabao's motorcade once
again passed in front of the practitioners, it could be seen clearly that some
Chinese officials in the vehicles looked at practitioners with smiling faces.
Telling the Facts to German Officials and Police
The local authority had sent out over a dozen policemen and officials to
maintain order. The policemen took the initiative to talk with practitioners and
to understand the motivation of the petition. Having learnt the truth about the
development of Falun Gong as well as the persecution of Falun Gong, the person
in charge of the Freising Police said, "I strongly support the way of Falun
Gong's peaceful protest against the violence, it would not be a good result to
use violence to resist violence." The translator arranged by the local government is a German with very good
Chinese and he is also very interested in Falun Gong as well. Many practitioners
told the facts to him from different angles. Some German police did not
understand the despotic schemes of the Chinese government-controlled media,
thereupon he explained the facts to the police based on information from
practitioners about Jiang's misdeeds such as the truth of the self-immolation.
The situation was the same as former Falun Gong activities; at the beginning the
policemen's facial expression looked serious and intense, after several hours,
while they learned more and more about the truth, their expression became more
and more relaxed. When practitioners left, they all smiled and waved their hands
to say goodbye to practitioners.
Afterwards practitioners got back Munich to continue the
peaceful petition. An official from the German security department said to
practitioners, it was two year ago when Jiang Zemin was visiting Berlin, he was
also on official duty in Berlin. At that time the German government believed the
Chinese government's rumor that Falun Gong will disturb the state visit. But
today, no body will believe those false rumors again. According to reports from
the German Falun Dafa Information Centre, the federal German criminal police
bureau recently acknowledged that the behavior of expelling Falun Gong
practitioners from their hotel in which Jiang stayed during his visiting in 2002
was illegal, and also acknowledged that "Falun Gong practitioners' protest
activities against the persecution of Falun Gong in China, even directly to
express their protest to the Chinese state-visiting guests, still belongs to a
protecting category of freedom of speech which is enshrined in the German
constitution." A German judge also emphasized that, Falun Gong is always
carrying on the resistance by peaceful means, to his knowledge; Falun Gong has
never used violence against any one or any thing.
Support from the People
A German lady, who works in the hotel in which Wen Jiabao will stay, learnt
the truth about the persecution from Falun Gong practitioners; she just wants
more people to know the truth. Because the Falun Gong practitioners were not
allowed to go to the opposite side of the street, thereupon she took some Falun
Gong leaflets and materials to the opposite side of the street and distributed
them to the people herself. Many people in Munich already know about the misdeeds of Jiang. A middle-aged
man received a leaflet and inquired the reason for this matter. When
practitioners mentioned that Falun Gong was here to appeal to bring Jiang to
justice, not waiting for further explanations, he said: "this is right, I wish
you good luck!"
