RFA: Germany's Federal Department of Domestic Affairs Acknowledges Violations of Law in Actions against Dafa Practitioners During Jiang's Official Visit
(Clearwsidom.net) In advance of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao visit to
Germany, Germany's Federal Department of Domestic Affairs admitted that German
police violated the law during Jiang Zemin's visit in 2002. The following is
based on RFA special reporter Tianyi's report from Germany. On May 2, Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao will visit Germany. This week, a
Berlin Administrative Court Judge, representatives of Germany's Federal
Department of Domestic Affairs and representatives of Falun Gong practitioners
reached agreement confirming that during Jiang Zemin's visit in April 2002,
Germany's Federal Department of Domestic Affairs violated the law in taking
restrictive actions against Falun Gong practitioners. A reporter interviewed Ms.
Zheng Zhihong, a law specialist from China Zhejiang University, who participated
in the lawsuit about this event. Ms. Zheng Zhihong talked about the progress and discussion of the case this
week. German police admitted that their actions in forcing practitioners out of a
hotel violated the law and that "Falun Gong practitioners' protest against the
persecution of Falun Gong in China, even expressing their protest to the state
guest from China is protected by freedom of speech stipulated in the German
Constitution." The Judge stressed that Falun Gong's protest was peaceful and that as far as
he knew Falun Gong had never used force or violence. Falun Gong practitioners in Germany were pleased at the attitude of the
German government and Germany's judicial justice. Hence, the one-year-long case
over Germany's Federal Department of Domestic Affairs' violation of human rights
ended before the visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. Based on an RFA story by special reporter Tianyi. |
