Honorary Proclamation of Falun Dafa Month in the State of Colorado [April 21, 2004]

(Clearwisdom.net, May 5, 2004) On April 21, 2004, Governor of Colorado Bill Owens issued an honorary proclamation in which he proclaimed May 2004 as "Falun Dafa Month" in Colorado. To celebrate, Colorado Falun Dafa practitioners will hold a series of activities including a celebration ceremony, "Falun Dafa in Colorado" photo exhibition, and free classes in Colorado cities.

Whereas, Falun Dafa was introduced to the Chinese public by its founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, in 1992, and is currently practiced by one hundred million practitioners in sixty countries; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa seeks to exercise the mind and body, while providing the practitioner with a better understanding of truth, compassion, and forbearance; and

Whereas, since the first Falun Dafa practice site in Colorado was established in 1998, volunteers have worked in their communities to expound the benefits of the practice; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa has since expanded across the state, and is now practiced in towns and cities throughout Colorado; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa practitioners have continued to pursue the practice worldwide, even after it became the subject of intense persecution from the Chinese Communist Party in 1999; and

Whereas, during the month of May, Falun Dafa practitioners will continue to promote awareness of Falun Dafa to the members of their respective communities;

Now Therefore, I, Bill Owens, Governor of the State of Colorado, do hereby proclaim May 2004,

Falun Dafa Month

in the State of Colorado.
