Norway: Letter to the Chairman of the National People's Congress from Falun Gong Practitioners in Norway

Oslo, Norway, June 1st, 2004

To the Chairman of the National People's Congress,

Dear Mr. Wu Bang Guo,

We are Falun Gong practitioners in Norway.

In your country there is a very good qigong method named Falun Gong. Its harmonious exercises and good values of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance have given us all great joy. We look at it as the most precious gift in our lives.

After starting to practise Falun Gong many people have got to know the ancient and rich culture of your country. Some of us have also started to learn Chinese.

We believe you know Falun Gong has benefited many people. After research in 1998 led by the former chairman of the National People's Congress, Mr. Qiao Shi, Falun Gong was characterised as "having hundreds of positive effects and no damage to the country and its people".

During your visit in Oslo, we will publicly demonstrate the peaceful and harmonious Falun Gong exercises. By doing this, we wish to give you the following message:

There are people who practise Falun Gong in many countries throughout the world. Even in Norway, a scarcely populated country far north.

Every person in this country can freely practise their belief, and freely express their different views.

Finally and most important, we would like share with you and the Norwegian society our heartfelt wish to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
