Jiang's Tyranny Has Little Support among the People
(Clearwisdom.net) In the cities of China today, one often hears
conversation among the common people about how the despicable acts of the Jiang
regime during the last two years have greatly roused their indignation. Two years ago, when speaking of Falun Gong, people would generally say,
"They are just keeping fit; there's nothing wrong with that, so why do the
police arrest them? Besides, we have the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of
belief. Whatever their particular belief, it is their own business and no
concern of yours, Jiang! After all, every human being must have a belief in
something." One year ago, people were saying things like, "That's really gone too
far. The police arrest Falun Gong practitioners from time to time, and abduct
them on all holidays, but they have no fear of eventual consequences. Today's
generation remembers the days of the Cultural Revolution, and it therefore has a
clearer perspective. Falun Gong has nothing to hide, and people say that it is
only a matter of time before Falun Gong is sure to be vindicated. The ugly fact
is that the police not only arrest people on a whim, but they also extort money
from them, or keep them unjustly imprisoned." "This qigong practice is a good one. My friend's dad used to suffer from
cancer, but he recovered by practicing Falun Gong. Chinese Central TV always
frames the founder of Falun Gong by manipulating those phony
practitioners." "The police are still holding two local Falun Gong practitioners who
were arrested last year. Without any reason, the authorities just keep them
detained. There are tens of thousands of practitioners similarly imprisoned
across the country. Once their illegal imprisonment is redressed, the
authorities will have to deal with other issues, the first of which is
compensation for their financial losses. Then there is the employment issue and
many others as well." Whenever discussing this nowadays, people are usually infuriated and firmly
condemn the situation that Jiang has created. Posting date: 6/13/2004 |
