Falun Dafa Practitioner He Shaohuai Tortured to Death in the Shehong County Detention Center, Sichuan Province (Photos)

Mr. He Shaohuai was 53 years old and he lived at 4-1 3^rd Door, at the Cement Factory's Zonghe Building on Xinglong Street located in Jinhua Town, Shehong County, Sichuan Province. He was tortured to death on September 15, 2003 in the Shehong County Detention Center.

One morning at 8:30 am, in July 2003, policemen Fan Dengchao and Yang Zhou from the Jinhua Town Police Substation ransacked Mr. He's home because a fellow practitioner who had been arrested told them his truth clarifying materials were from him. Police found Dafa books and some materials and then arrested Mr. He and his wife and took them to the County Detention Center. There was only the couple at home, since their children went out of town to work. After 15 days, Mr. He's wife was released once they extorted 1000-yuan (1) from her. She wanted to visit her husband before going home, but she never saw her husband again.

A Doctor's medical report about his death

After his wife returned home, she went back to the police station to send clothes, a comforter and money 3 or 4 times, but the police never allowed her to see him in person. She tried to send money to him again on September 9th, 2003, and saw Li Wujun, who is in charge of the health of those detained at the center. She asked about how her husband was. He said that he talked with him the day before, and that her husband was still doing very well.

On September 15, at 8:00 am in the morning, Mr. He could not get up. He said he had a pain in the chest. Two people went to help him get up, but he collapsed before reaching the cell gate. He died on the way to the hospital. The police then notified his wife and did not tell her the truth. The police only said Mr. He was in the hospital, and that she should go and see him. Instead, the police took her directly to the funeral home. The autopsy report showed that he was tortured to death. There was no bleeding during the autopsy on the afternoon of September 15^th, although he died that morning. There was absolutely no food in his stomach. The report indicated that he had not eaten or used the toilet for about 10 days. In order to cover their crimes, the County Party Committee formed an investigation group to check on the cause of his death and told his wife they would issue the result within 1 month. After 3 months, the group said Mr. He refused to get medical treatment for an existing illness, which caused his death. They are trying to deny responsibility for his death. Mr. He began practicing Falun Gong in March 1997. He used to have many diseases and was very weak. Soon he become very healthy and didn't feel tired even after working more than 10 hours per day.

Mr. He was very firm in his faith in Dafa after the persecution started on July 20, 1999. He clarified the truth to people and was twice detained in the Shehong County Detention Center. The first time was in 2001 during the Chinese New Year season. Police forced him to be interrogated in the Jinhua Town Substation for 3 days. He did not give them any information. Later, police ransacked his home, they did not find any "proof," and then sent him to the Shehong County Detention Center for 21 days. He was then released after they extorted more than 7000 yuan from him.
