Dallas, Texas: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Perform in Concert Sponsored by Local Chinese Community (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of June 11, 2004, the "New Epoch Concert" sponsored by the Dallas Branch of the Epoch Times and cosponsored by a number of organizations and individuals in the local Chinese community was held at the Eisemann Center Performance Theater in the City of Richardson, where there is a large Chinese population. Some famous Chinese musicians, vocalists and dancers from North America were invited to perform in the concert. The theme of the concert was to promote the traditional Chinese culture and to express thankfulness to the supporters and readers of the Epoch Times newspaper. About 1,000 people came to appreciate the concert. Most of the performers invited were Falun Gong practitioners. Their high-standard performances were warmly received.

Renowned tenor and Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guimin Guan was also invited to perform in the concert. Mr. Guan is one of the most popular singers of all time in China. Overseas Chinese people from Mainland China are very familiar with his songs. Many people came to attend the concert out of admiration for him.

His pure voice and resonant singing won warm applauses from the audience. People sighed with admiration for his long-lasting artistic vigor. Years did not have any influence to his singing career, instead, people felt that he sings even better now. Mr. Guan told the audience that all of these were attributed to Falun Dafa. In 1980s, when his artistic career reached a climax, he suddenly suffered from cirrhosis of the liver. His singing career was almost stopped. He had to seek different kinds of treatments including Qigong to cure his illnesses, but the effect was quite limited. In 1996, his friend introduced him to Falun Dafa, and he became healthy and energetic. All of his illnesses were completely gone. He hoped that the audience would not to believe the lies defaming Falun Gong. In the end, Mr. Guan and his wife, soprano Xiaoqun Zou, sang the song "Falun Dafa Is Great" that he composed himself to express his gratefulness towards Falun Dafa.

"Falun Dafa is great! Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa! The Buddha's light shines everywhere!" The song resounded in the performance hall and the audience's hearts.

A couple from mainland China was extremely fond of Mr. Guan's songs. They knew that Mr. Guan was a Falun Gong practitioner. The gentleman said, "It was Falun Gong that cured his illnesses, what he said was the truth!" In addition, people were very interested in the lawsuits against Jiang and they wanted to get more information. When a Falun Gong practitioner said that no state head should enjoy the immunity if he committed genocide, the gentleman expressed his agreement.
