Break Through All Kinds of Obstacles Formed by Human Notions
By a practitioner from Germany, Qingxin
(Clearwisdom.net) I finally broke through an obstacle that has interfered
with me for a long time with the help of fellow practitioners. Although I have
been in Germany for many years and had written my dissertations for my Master's
degree and PhD degree in the German language, I always felt that my fluency in
German was too poor to translate Dafa articles. Of course, I had excuses: the terms used in science are simple and repeat
often; yet the vocabulary in cultivation practice is complicated, rarely used,
more difficult, etc. Although translators for the website were badly needed, I
had never participated. Some time ago, when I recommended an article to the translation coordinator,
he suggested that I translate it. I rejected his suggestion immediately. When I
hung up the phone, I felt unsettled. I called him back and took up the
translation of the article. The job was finished smoothly. It was not as hard as
I had imagined at all. Ever since then, I have been participating in
translation. It is hard to believe that such an easy-to-break obstacle could
have interfered with me for so many years. I enlightened to some principles on
the Fa based on this experience. I am writing it down to share it with you.
Please correct me if you see anything wrong. In the process of cultivation, everyone meets with all kinds of
"interference." Most of the interference comes from ourselves, our notions and
thinking patterns that the old forces imposed upon us in order to interfere with
the Fa-rectification. The notions form a kind of constraint, which hinders us
from validating Dafa. These notions also serve as obstacles when we participate
in Fa-rectification and deal with other practitioners. For instance, "I am not
feeling well, I need to rest. I cannot join the activity today." Having been
caught in the rain, we immediately have the thought of catching a cold. When
staying up late, we would think, "There is something important tomorrow. What if
I don't have enough energy?" Or, a practitioner didn't talk to me today, or
didn't talk to me nicely - what's wrong? Maybe it is because such and such...
All these are the fixed thinking patterns in our mind, and are human reasoning.
We also use human methods to solve them, which interfere with our righteous
thoughts. As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, our righteous thoughts are
powerful enough to eliminate all the evil that interferes with Fa-rectification
in other dimensions. This is what we do every day when we send forth righteous
thoughts. Yet when we use ordinary people's forms to validate the Fa and save
people, we say we cannot do it, we are not capable enough, and have all kinds of
worries. Isn't this obviously caused by human notions? "If you do not want to change your human state and rationally rise to a
true understanding of Dafa, you will miss the opportunity. If you do not
change the human logic that you, as an ordinary human, have formed deep in
your bones over thousands of years, you will be unable to break away from
this superficial human shell and reach Consummation." ("Cautionary Advice", Essentials for Further Advancement) When we have the heart of being responsible to Dafa, as long as we do things
with such a pure heart, we will be able to succeed. But oftentimes when it comes
to a concrete matter, we follow human thinking patterns, use human technology,
capabilities, knowledge, skills, and methods to judge it. In fact, whether we
succeed or not does not rely on the method or our capability. Yet we always use
ordinary human capability to judge success or failure. It shows that the notions
that have formed for thousands of years have served as interference and hindered
our capabilities. Master said in Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in
Philadelphia, U.S.A., "...an everyday person's postnatally formed body is just a vessel, and
the only thing that can exist in the brain of a human body, those so-called
thoughts, are actually the surface concepts that have formed in his head
with the experiences he's accumulated in the human growth process. That's
really just what the human body's thoughts are." Isn't it the notions formed postnatally [that are taking effect] when we
think very hard? We don't even know when these notions formed. The postnatally
formed notions stop us from having righteous thoughts and righteous actions and
make us doubt our supernormal capabilities that we have as Fa-rectification
period Dafa disciples. Only when we study the Fa more can we continuously break
through notions and the obstacles formed by our thought karma, and break through
the constraints in our heart and illusions in the human world.
