By a Dafa practitioner in Cangzhou, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) I began practicing Falun Dafa during the 1998 Lantern Festival (February 11). My wife practices Falun Dafa as well. Through studying the Fa (1) and practicing the exercises, our bodies became healthy and our hearts were purified. We benefited enormously from Dafa. At the same time, we introduced the great benefits of Falun Dafa to our relatives and sent them truth clarification materials about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. We thus helped them know that Falun Gong practitioners are all striving to be good people, to be considerate of others in every way they can, to be selfless, altruistic and to assimilate to the standards of the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Our relatives gradually got to know about Falun Dafa and they all support Dafa.

Both my parents know that Dafa is good

When I began to practice Falun Dafa, my mother also started to practice because of her cervical spondylosis. Soon, she discarded her habits of smoking and gambling. Having little education, my mother took a long time to read through Zhuan Falun (2) once. Afterwards, because of surrounding influences and our lack of understanding the Fa, my mother gave up practicing. At that time we only felt sorry for her.

Since July 20, 1999, being influenced by the slanderous propaganda under the control of Jiang's regime, people everywhere were talking negatively about Dafa, Teacher and practitioners. When somebody repeated Jiang's lies, my mother would say, "I've read the book of Falun Gong. I know that the book teaches people how to be a good person and do good deeds; it is certainly unlike those televised frauds of suicide or killing, which are all deceptions." When we clarified the truth to our relatives or neighbors, mother always supported us.

Once, when she went to her parent's home, her relatives asked, "Is the news on the TV program about practitioners' killing people and self-immolation true?" My mother said, "It's not true! It is stated in the Dafa book that practitioners cannot kill. How could they possibly kill people? Suicide is also killing. Those practitioners are all good people who don't fight back when being punched or insulted, and they never take advantage of others, nor do they have they any ill-intention towards others. What is shown on TV is all false, which was purposely made up by those evil people to deceive common people like us. Don't be taken in and misunderstand Falun Gong. Both my son and daughter-in-law practice Falun Gong and they are so nice!"

When she came back home, she told me about her exchange. I was so proud of my mother! My father is an individual recognized in our area for his genuine character. He is reticent and seldom talks with me. Occasionally on his way to work, he would pick up a "red package" (truth clarification materials). After reading it, he would keep it and give it to us when he came back home. From father's smiling face I know that he understands us, and he knows that Dafa is good.

Learning the truth, my brother-in-law regains his moral sense

My second younger sister is a person who enjoys helping others. Under our influence she read Zhuan Falun. After reading the book she was deeply touched. From reading the book she learned the principle of karmic retribution and thus let go of the many years of conflicts with her parents-in-law.

Influenced by the unhealthy social atmosphere and driven by desire for profit, my brother-in-law always had an unscrupulous mindset in doing business, which resulted in him accumulating many debts. My sister tried to positively persuade him many times but got nowhere. We also told him the principle of "no loss, no gain," and that to gain, one has to lose. He did not accept it. After frequently receiving karmic retribution immediately for his wrongdoings, he finally realized the true meaning of the principles stated in Dafa. He came to truly believe that if something is yours, you will not lose it, and if something is not yours, you will lose it anyway even if you manage to get it.

My sister often brought him Dafa truth clarification materials, such as CDs, to help him know that Dafa practitioners are all good people doing good deeds, and that as a human being one should have a conscience. My brother-in-law finally awakened. Once, while driving home from doing business, he saw that a bag of fertilizer had dropped from a fertilizer wagon in front him. He pressed on the accelerator to catch up with the driver and told the driver his bag of fertilizer had dropped. Later he told me, "I did that because Falun Gong has educated me. In the past, I would have been overjoyed with the opportunity to grab it for myself. Now I also think of others. I might feel good to have picked up a bag of fertilizer for free, but what about the person who lost it? He would feel very sorry. It is not easy for him to do business either, just like it is for me."

It is Dafa and Teacher who helped a lost person get back his moral sense. From then on, each time my second younger sister visited us, she would always ask for truth clarification CDs and fliers. After she has read them, she passes them to her relatives, friends and neighbors. Quietly, she is doing something extremely sacred.

My children support Falun Dafa

My two children are both still young. Over the years when we studied the Fa, they would do their homework nearby, and they never disturbed us. After finishing their homework, they would listen to us reading the Fa. Sometimes they would also join us in the reading. They also learned quite a bit of the exercises and have never been misled by Jiang's lies. They also help us make Dafa truth clarification materials from time to time.

When my son sees Dafa truth clarification materials somewhere, he cheerfully tells us about it after coming home. One time, my daughter's teacher repeated Jiang's lies in class to poison students' minds. My daughter immediately said to the teacher, "Teacher, what you said is not right! ..."

Hearing about that, several of us practitioners were very touched and praised my daughter for her courage, and told her she did really well. Taking that opportunity, I wrote a letter to her teacher to clarify the truth to her, telling her to make a clear distinction between right and wrong and not to follow the evildoers; otherwise she would harm both herself and the students.

Here, I commend my relatives and friends who know the truth of Falun Dafa. In the meantime, I would like to kindly exhort my fellow practitioners' relatives who hold a negative attitude towards Dafa with the following words: I sincerely hope you get to know the truth of Dafa and will make a clear distinction between right and wrong, reject the evil persecution and uphold justice and kindness.
