California: San Diego Practitioners Warmly Welcomed in La Mesa Parade (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 5, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from the San Diego Area participated in the La Mesa Flag Day Parade. They were warmly received by local people and government officials who watched the parade.

A lady from Philadelphia says, "I like 'Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance' very much."

Walking at the front of the Falun Gong contingent were three practitioners holding a large banner reading "Falun Dafa" in both Chinese and English. Following them was a beautifully decorated float with the words, "Falun Dafa is Good" and "The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" on each side. On the back of the float was the Falun Dafa website information. At the front of the float was a poster about free Falun Gong exercise instruction. Practitioners standing on the float continuously demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. The dancing group, composed of six practitioners wearing traditional Chinese costumes, followed the float. They danced gracefully and nobly to the Dafa music. At the end of the contingent was the waist drum group composed of more than a dozen practitioners. The Falun Gong group looked spectacular and peaceful during the parade. Practitioners displayed the grace of Falun Dafa to the public in their own way.

During the parade, the Falun Gong group marched while spectators applauded. People showed their respect and appreciation to Falun Gong in different ways. Broadcasting sites setting up along the streets constantly introduced Falun Gong exercises to the spectators, and provided information about Falun Gong's widespread practice around the world, awards and proclamations that the Falun Gong founder has received, and also mentioned the free exercise instruction in San Diego.

When the Falun Gong group marched past the presiding stage, La Mesa Mayor Art Madrid and the city councilors waved to practitioners, and took pictures of them.

Practitioners who handed out Dafa truth clarification materials were very pleased to see that people earnestly wanted to learn about Falun Gong, and many spectators requested Dafa materials.

After the parade, practitioners traveled to two other places to participate in Fa-promotion activities.
