Some Suggestions on Writing a Historical Record Focusing on the Psychological Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners (Clearwidom.net) Some Dafa practitioners have suggested writing a Falun Dafa
History. I think that every Dafa practitioner's road of Fa rectification is
different, and everyone's understanding of their experiences is different. There
are more than 100 million Dafa practitioners throughout the world, the main body
of which is in China. With so many people, how could one person hope to write an
accurate account? How could it be comprehensive? How could it be specific and
authentic? However, if all Dafa practitioners wrote their own cultivation and Fa
rectification history, when compiled, would it not be a great historical work?
This historical record would surely be comprehensive, full of substance,
detailed, authentic and powerful. Teacher said, "...you have to walk your own paths well yourselves. That's the case for
everybody. It's what you will leave behind after you reach Consummation in
the future, and also a chance for you to establish mighty virtue. What you
do well is everything that you've validated and enlightened to. Put that
part in order and remove the unwanted dregs, and the essence that remains is
the path to your success. ("Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern
Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference") Right now, many practitioners erroneously think that the persecution of the
body is worse than the persecution of the mind. As a result, practitioners who
have not suffered too much persecution physically feel that there is nothing to
write about. They think that it would not touch people. Many readers also think
along the same lines--any article that exposes physical persecution seems to
have rich content and is very powerful. On the other hand, articles that report
psychological persecution seem empty and weak, and not as moving. Looking at
this from a deeper level, I think it's exactly the opposite. The extreme result of physical persecution is the loss of the body, which
people call "death." But as a practitioner, the view is not the same as everyone
else. Teacher said, "... in this persecution, regardless of how much a Dafa disciple has been
persecuted, what awaits a Dafa disciple is the most wonderful. That is
because what's seen as "life" and "death" in the human world aren't true
life and death for a being," ("Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Washington DC Fa
Conference") However, the psychological persecution is much worse--if you experience this
form of persecution, the risk is greater that you could drop down in your
progression and not come back. You would lose your life forever. Psychological
persecution is a method devised by the evil to destroy people's consciences.
This can cause people to lose their Buddha-nature and give up cultivation,
causing them to be un-savable because of this type of persecution. This loss of
one's true life would be permanent, losing life itself. One will suffer much,
much more as a result of psychological persecution than from the persecution of
the body. The result of physical persecution shows itself within our material world,
and therefore it is the most graphic and shocking, and easily stimulates one's
emotions. However, the result of psychological persecution shows up in different
ways. Practitioners who have the ability to use their celestial eyes can see the
bodies of those who have "enlightened" on a wicked path slowly wasting away in
another dimension. How terrifying! So I think we should try to truly understand
the Fa from the Fa regarding this matter. In exposing this evil persecution, we
should write about it prolifically and with great effort. Do not think there is
nothing to write about just because you were not physically tortured. Write
about the persecution of your mind; what you write about is equally powerful in
terms of combating the persecution, if not more meaningful. This can expose the
true nature of this evil persecution, which is to destroy people's eternal life
and all that's associated with it. The evil persecution of the "brainwashing class" is a means that came into
being after the physical persecution failed to reach Jiang's goal. Many Dafa
practitioners withstood the persecution of the body. It not only failed to make
practitioners submit, it made them firmer believers. However, through
brainwashing, they lost their direction and fell, giving up their cultivation.
They "enlightened" along a wicked path, and many sank into degradation, some
even sided with the evil, helping and protecting it. These things are so painful
to watch! Our region has a chemical fiber factory and many of its workers were
Dafa practitioners. During the persecution, many of them went to Beijing to
appeal. After being arrested and taken back, many of them were brutally
tormented physically, some were beaten so badly that torn skin and gashes were
all over their bodies; their underwear was stuck to their bodies by blood and
could not be taken off. Some were not given sheets or warm clothing during the
bitter winter. They were forced to sleep on the cement without food and were
starved until they were merely skeletons covered with skin. After detention in
such a state for up to a half-year (there were police stationed at the factory),
the practitioners went to Beijing again after they were released. However, after
some time, the factory established brainwashing classes and a group to
"transform" practitioners. This time almost none were spared (except for one who
became homeless and left). Practitioners were "transformed" on a large scale,
and the psychological persecution led to a very negative effect locally.
Although a few of those who "enlightened" on a wicked path came back to the Fa,
they do not progress with the same diligence. Because of this, it is imperative and profoundly meaningful that we expose
the evil's psychological persecution. Please point out with compassion any errors in this article. Posting date: 6/20/2004 |
