KXAN TV (NBC affiliate in Austin, Texas) Broadcasts Report on Anti-torture Exhibition by "The Van Tour to Support the Lawsuit against Jiang" (Photo) By A Falun Gong Practitioner in Texas (Clearwisdom.net) On May 29, the van tour to support the lawsuit against
Jiang arrived in Austin, the capital of Texas. Along with local practitioners, a
press conference was held to expose Jiang's inhumane persecution of Falun Gong
practitioners. Two practitioners demonstrated the torture methods frequently
used by the authorities against Falun Gong practitioners in China.
The press conference was held in front of the Texas State Capitol. The
exhibition of the torture scenes caught the attention of many passersby and
government staff. A local TV station, an NBC affiliate, interviewed Falun Gong
practitioners and the report was aired on the evening news. Below is a
transcript of the report:
"Outside the Capitol today, members of a Chinese group spoke out against
genocide. The group is trying to drum up support for a lawsuit against former
Chinese president, Jiang Zemin. [Jiang] is accused of abusing and torturing
Chinese people. That has led to a lawsuit filed against him. It is the first
time a Chinese communist leader has been sued inside the United States.
'We are part of a global coalition to expose his crimes and hopefully to
bring him to international court, so that he will be brought to justice.' [Local
Falun Dafa practitioner]
Those involved say [Jiang] tortures people who practice a popular type of
meditation and exercises called Falun Gong." Posting date: 6/20/2004 |
