By a Falun Gong Practitioner in New York

(Clearwisdom.net) The annual Staten Island Harmony Street Fair celebrates the diversity of the multi-cultural community. Last year, Falun Gong practitioners performed a Chinese traditional dance and the Falun Gong exercises, which left a deep impression. This year, the event's organizers invited practitioners to participate again.

On June 13, Falun Gong practitioners from New York started off their performance with a golden dragon dance. This was followed by a Great Tang Dynasty dance, celebrating the culture of that period. Finally, the practitioners demonstrated the exercises. Someone from the audience said to us after the performance, "This type of exercise, which relieves stress, is exactly what we need."

The practitioners also set up a booth to promote Dafa, clarify the truth, conduct exercise demonstrations, teach the exercises and collect signatures to protest the persecution. They also taught those who were interested to make paper lotus flowers, which was quite popular.

In the series of activities, some visitors came to learn the facts about Falun Gong and expressed their wish to practice Dafa. Some listened attentively to our account of the persecution. Some signed their names right away on the petition against the persecution. There were many more Chinese visitors than last year, and they were receptive to our truth-clarifying efforts.
