Canadian Citizen's Mother is Abducted and Taken for Brainwashing in Wuhan, Hubei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Police from the Douhuti Township Police Station in Gongan County, Hubei Province abducted Ms. Li Guangzhen in March of this year. Ms. Li is the mother of Canadian citizen Mr. Xiao Jin. She was abducted because someone reported her to the police for appealing against the persecution of Falun Gong, and for distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials.

After North American media exposed the abduction of Ms. Li Guangzhen, her situation received widespread attention. Mr. Xiao received letters and phone calls from several members of the Canadian Parliament expressing their concern over the case. The Canadian Embassy also wrote to the Hubei Province Foreign Affairs Office inquiring about the incident. The incident caused quite a stir in overseas Chinese communities. Classmates, friends of Mr. Xiao, Falun Gong practitioners and many Chinese people with a righteous conscience called and wrote to Mr. Xiao's hometown and related government agencies, asking them to immediately release Ms. Li Guangzhen.

However, the public outcry from the international community fell on deaf ears. Ignoring the appeals, the "610 Office" (1) and associated agencies of Gongan County in Hubei Province forced Ms. Li Guangzhen to attend a brainwashing class that slandered Falun Gong. They asked Ms. Li to sign an affidavit admitting that her appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong was wrong. She sternly refused to sign. Under the direct order of the Hubei Province "610 Office," the brainwashing class continued their mental persecution of Ms. Li Guangzhen.

After calling the National Security Brigade in Gongan County, Mr. Xiao Jin learned that the National Security Brigade and the "610 Office" had sent his mom to the most notorious brainwashing class in Wuhan City: the "Hubei Province Center for Political and Judiciary Education." It had been reported that the brainwashing class in Hubei Province is one of the most vicious in its torture of Falun Gong practitioners. A County Political and Judiciary Committee vice deputy, Mr. Xia, demanded that the Gongan County's Jingjiang River Administration Bureau in Hubei Province, where Mr. Xiao Jin's father used to work, come up with 4,000 Yuan (2) and a car to send Ms. Li Guangzhen to Wuhan City.

A resident of Wuhan reports that her sister had been detained for one year at the Hewan Women's Labor Camp in Wuhan City. She was still very resolute in her practice of Falun Gong and just as cheerful after her release. Later, the sister was abducted and taken to the "Hubei Province Center for Political and Judiciary Education." After only a few months in detention she signed the Repentance Paper against her own will, under extreme coercion and torture. After the sister was released this time, she was severely mentally disturbed and did not want to talk about her painful experience to anyone. Only after more than half a year did she admit to her sister that she had made a mistake by signing the Repentance Paper. She sent her solemn declaration to the Minghui website.

Having heard this story, we are sure that Ms. Li Guangzhen is suffering the same kind of cruel mental torture at this moment. Mr. Xiao Jin was very worried about the safety of his mother. According to Clearwisdom's account, there have been at least 38 Falun Gong practitioners persecuted to death in Hubei Province.

Mr. Xiao Jin is appealing to the worldwide community to show concern about his mom's abduction and mental torture. He is currently trying to contact the Chinese legal community, hoping to secure his mom's freedom through legal avenues, and to prosecute those individuals and agencies directly responsible for the persecution of his mother.
