On May 7, 2004, under the orders of the Director, Li Fengshi, and the Brigade Leader, Wang Jinghui of the Longshan Forced Labor Camp, the Deputy Leader, Tang Yubao of the Second Brigade used two high voltage electric batons to shock Dafa practitioner Gao Rongrong for more than two hours. She threatened Gao Rongrong, "Today, I will kill you even if I will lose my job as a police officer!"

According to witnesses, the skin on her face and neck was completely charred, and her whole head was very swollen. Under such unbearable torture, Gao jumped from the window of the first floor of the police station and sustained severe injuries. The bones in her lower legs were broken in several places. The labor camp sent her to the Public Security Hospital, Shenyang City. It is reported that as of May 13, the hospital had not informed her family members about the incident.

Dafa practitioner Sun Jianzhong from Tangshan was arrested and sent to the Fengnan Nanbao Prison on April 15, 2004. From the outset, Sun Jianzhong, Zhang Jinlu, Zhang Yunping, An Zhenjie, and Han Xueyu were sent to the Fourth Detachment (this unit is allegedly said to be for the rigorous supervision, fierce brainwashing, and torturing of Dafa practitioners). The five Dafa practitioners were each subjected to the handcuff behind the back torture, and were deprived of sleep.

Later, An Zhenjie was sent to the First Detachment, Sun jianzhong and Han Xueyu to the Second Detachment, and Zhang Jinlu and Zhang Yunping were sent to the Fifth Detachment. To protest the persecution, Sun Jianzhong went on a hunger strike and the behind the back handcuff was changed to a front handcuff. His health deteriorated, he has become very thin, and is not recognizable. Subsequently, he could not bear the torture and was sent to the hospital of the Fourth Detachment. He is still there today. His present condition is not known. His family members are not allowed to visit him.

Dafa practitioner Zheng Huiwang from Bazhou City, Langfang District, Hebei Province, is detained at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp, Tangshan City, Hebei Province (The Number One Forced Labor Camp of the Province) and has been on a hunger strike for nearly five months. His situation is critical.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shi Ying from Helong Township, Donggang City, Liaoning Province was persecuted at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp until she became mentally traumatized. She was sent home recently and then sent to the Changshan Town Mental Disease Hospital for treatment. When the practitioners who knew her well visited her at the hospital, they noticed that there were several deep scratch marks on her face, and the visitors were shocked and distressed because Ms. Shi Ying could no longer recognize any of them. At present, it is not specifically known what type of torture produced her condition.

Ms. Zhu Mingqi, 50, a single resident of Shuntong Minor District, Shenhe District, Shenyang City, was originally a staff member of the Shenyang City Infectious Diseases Institute, Tests Section. In December 2001, because she posted some truth clarification materials, she was arrested. For some time she was said to be confined at the Dabei Prison, Shenyang City, sentenced to six years imprisonment. At present, her family members and colleagues do not know where she is. The police have never allowed any of her family members to visit her. Nor would the leaders of her work unit divulge her whereabouts to her family members. It has been two years since her arrest and there is absolutely no news about her. No one knows if she is dead or alive.

After Ms. Zhu Mingqi was arrested, her work unit announced that she had been fired.

Yunnan Province practitioner Li Zheng was arrested when he was clarifying the facts about Falun Dafa on the street. He is detained at the Dapingba Forced Labor Camp, Luoci Township, Lufeng County, Yunnan Province. He has been on hunger strike for more than twenty days, and his condition is grave. The police do not allow any family members to visit.

On April 4, 2004, the Longdongbao Administration Office of Guizhou City, along with more than ten police officers in two vehicles, went to the residence of Falun Gong practitioners Kang Zhongrong and Jiang Ming to watch and wait outside their door. At 1:30 p.m., when Kang Zhongrong and her husband were leaving the house, Kang Zhongrong was trapped between the two vehicles and the public witnessed approximately eight people jumping out of the vehicles to abduct Kang Zhongrong and take her to the brainwashing center. At this time, Kang Zhongrong is still being detained and psychologically tortured at the Lannigou Brainwashing Center in Guizhou City.

Ms. Wang Yuhua, who is in her fifties, is a Dafa practitioner from Taipusiqi, Inner Mongolia. On May 10, 2004, she was clarifying the facts at the Baochang Town Memorial Monument when the police arrested her and searched her home. The police confiscated truth-clarification materials, banners, and Dafa books. Prior to this, the police officers from the Baochang Town Public Security Department, Cao Yi, Zhang Tianlai, and others went to the homes of several other Dafa practitioners to harass them, using varying degrees of severity.

On the morning of May 14, 2004, Zhao Wenhong, a staff member of the Wuhan Aviation and Space Instruments Company (formerly known as the Wuhan City Wuchang District Wu Jiawan Wuhan Instruments Factory), was on duty when officers from the Wuhan City "610 Office," (1) the Section Leader of the Factory Security Section, Chen Fanghe, together with six or seven other officers arrested him and sent him to a brainwashing center. Where he is specifically detained is not known.

Ms. Zhao Cui, not being eighteen years of age on July 18, 2001, was not permitted by the Constitution of China to be sentenced to forced labor. Illegally, and without due process, the Tieling Changtu County Shibajiazi Village Police Station and the Changtu County Detention Center forcibly sent her to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for two years of detention. The "Exemption from Forced Labor Certificate" dated July 2, 2001 stated that she was 20 years of age.

On March 5, 2004, the Shucheng Town Police Station arrested Dafa practitioner Ma Genyuan and detained him at the City Detention Center. Three days later, he was sent to the Cangzhou City Legal System Education Center for brainwashing.

During the evening of March 10, Zhao Tieqiao of the City Public Security Department Political Report Protection Section, in collusion with many officers from the Beishiqiao Village Police Station, arrested Dafa practitioners Mr. Gu Xingchang and Ms. Wang Xiangru (husband and wife) from Mantang Village and sent them to the Hejian City Detention Center. They confiscated their computer, printer, and other equipment.

At about 3:00 a.m. on March 11, Zhao Tieqiao and officers from the police station once again went to Nanshicao Village in the same district, and burst open the door to arrest Dafa practitioner Wan Fulin. After entering the house, they found that Wang Fulin was not in the house. They rummaged through the chests and cupboards, searching inside and outside the house. Zhao destroyed a banner found in a clothes cupboard, which said "Fa Lun Chang Zhuan" (The Falun rotates forever), and other officers destroyed a couplet with words "Spreading the Fa" on the doorframe of the bedroom.

(1) "610 Office" - A bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches.
