(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Liu Yueying and I am 63 years old. I live in Ningxiang County, Hunan Province. I have had many diseases since childhood. Later, I was injured while working at an industrial construction site. My left foot was broken, and my upper back, lower back, head and neck have not recovered since. Sometimes, the condition even became worse. During the difficult trials in my life, there were many times that I wanted to commit suicide to leave the suffering of life. However, I felt the preciousness of life also which helped me to continue on. In February 1999, I heard that Falun Dafa taught by Teacher Li Hongzhi had a very good effect on elevating one's morality and good health. I took part in the group study right away when I heard about it. During the period I studied the Falun Dafa teachings, I elevated my moral standard and daily behavior strictly according to my understanding of the principles taught in the book Zhuan Falun [main teachings of Falun Dafa]. Living according the Falun Dafa principles had a huge effect toward eliminating my illnesses and improving my health. My body, which had been wracked by diseases, became healthy and felt light. I felt that the happiest event in my life was learning to practice Falun Dafa.

In 1999, Jiang Zemin began persecuting Falun Dafa. I went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and was arrested on the train. On the third day, the local police came to pick me up and sent me to local detention center. I was fined 4000 Yuan. A policeman asked me why I went to Beijing. I said I went there to appeal on behalf of my Teacher and Falun Dafa. Falun Dafa teaches people to be good people. He beat and kicked me with his leather boots; the injury still remains today. I was held for five months before I was released. In August 2002, I was reported by some people to the police because they knew I practiced Falun Dafa. On the night of August 7th at 2am, police, officials from the "610 Office" (1) and dozens more people came to my home and took away eleven Falun Dafa books and some articles. They took me to the police station where they beat me violently. They burned me with fire, forced me to kneel down on wood, and tried to force me to sit on Teacher's book. No matter how hard they beat me, I refused to sit on the books. Had I not been a Falun Dafa practitioner, I'm sure I would have been beaten to death. After torturing me for some time, the police realized the cruelty of their actions, yet, I still kept a peaceful attitude and showed no anger or malice. The policemen said, "You really do practice Falun Dafa. You have such a good spirit." They held me on two separate occasions totaling 30 days.

One day in 2002, I went to buy seeds. Someone spoke bad words about Falun Dafa. I told him the truth, "Do not be deceived by the lies. Falun Dafa is good." At that time some government employees were there. In September, they organized a brainwashing program to force practitioners to renounce their belief in Falun Dafa. I was forced to sign my name. Later, I thought as a Falun Dafa practitioner, I should step forward to appeal against the persecution of Falun Dafa. I wrote a declaration to the "610 Office".

In September 2002, my husband became severely ill. My grandson fell down and fractured a bone. They both needed my care. The policemen deceived me into going to the police station on September 22 and when I arrived they forcibly sent me to the detention center. Two hours later, while I was being taken to the detention center, my husband passed away. On the fifth day when I was busy handling his funeral arrangements, the police seized me and took me to the detention center again.

On January 1, 2003, I was transferred to the Baimalong Labor Camp for one year of forced labor. I have never given up my belief in Falun Dafa nor betrayed my Teacher. Falun Dafa is good!

(1) "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
