Proclamation from New York Senator Nicholas Spano in Recognition of Falun Dafa [May 13, 2004]

Whereas, the State of New York is fortunate to have within its midst many outstanding and dedicated organizations who have devoted their time and efforts to their communities and wishers to confer appropriate recognition upon them; and

Whereas, on such organization is Falun Dafa, who is celebrating the 5^th World Falun Dafa Day which marks its introduction to the public 12 years ago in China; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa is a body, mind and spirit practice based on truthfulness, compassion and forbearance. 100 millions people worldwide, of all professions, ages, ethnicities and different countries practice it; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa grew rapidly in popularity attracting millions inside China but have also under Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin who unleashed a vicious campaign of terror ordering the practice wiped out. The practitioners inside China are courageously resisting the violence and brutality; and

Whereas, Falun Dafa will not betray their belief in all that is good and how to hate and evil and they will have the courage of their convictions and peacefully but actively resist the repression; now, therefore, be it

Proclaimed, that on behalf of the Senate of the State of New York, Falun Dafa be wished a future of continued success and accomplishment.
