Ms. Zhou Zebi from Chengxi Township, Sichuan Province Dies From Torture in 2001

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhou Zebi from Chengxi Township, Dazhu County, Sichuan Province was tortured with a variety of methods while detained in the notorious Zizhong Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp in Sichuan Province. She was subjected to extended periods of torture, which left her on the verge of death and in an emaciated state. The torture caused her to have injuries, which caused her to cough terribly, vomit blood, and also have bloody stools. One of her relatives carried her out of the forced labor camp on his back in April 2001. At that time, she already had serious edema, her lower abdomen was distended, and she could only exhale but not inhale very deeply. The torture left her with such severe injuries, she looked like a dead person. In May 2001, Ms. Zhou Zebi died from complications resulting from the extended torture she received by the authorities.

Ms. Zhou Zebi was born in Huangjing Village, Chengxi Township, Dazhu County of Sichuan Province in 1966. She used to be very weak ever since an early age. Her mother carried her around to look for good doctors and get medicine for her. After she got married and gave birth to her child, her health became much worse. But after she started practicing Falun Gong, her health recovered and her heart was full of happiness. Her friends and relatives heard her laughing again. She behaved by following Falun Dafa's principle of Truth, Compassion, Tolerance. She showed filial respect toward her parents-in-law and was acknowledged as a kind person by her neighbors.

In July 1999, the persecution against Falun Dafa began in China, and Ms. Zhou went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Dafa. Later she was sent into Changping Detention Center because she refused to deny that she was a Falun Dafa practitioner when interrogated.

In the detention center Ms. Zhou and other Falun Gong practitioners were beaten, and physically punished by the policemen. The only food they were given each day was two small pieces of steamed corn bread.

After she was sent back to the Second Detention Center located in Dazhu County, Sichuan Province, the police sentenced her to the forced labor camp for one year. In the notorious Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp in Sichuan Province she was tortured by all the worst means, but she never compromised with the evil.

To shift the responsibility for her death, the forced labor camp informed her family members to bring her back home in April 2001. When her relative carried her out of the forced labor camp on his back, her husband almost could not recognize her. Her eyes were nearly swollen shut. She had serious edema over her whole body, her lower abdomen was distended, and she was on the verge of death. Ms. Zhou Zebi died in May 2001 due to her extremely poor health condition which was a result of the extended torture she received.

After Ms. Zhou's death, the authorities began fabricating rumors that she died as a result of practicing Falun Dafa so that they could evade their responsibility in her death.
