Arrested after the 2004 Chinese New Year -- Four Tortured to Death Shortly after the 15th day (February 5, 2004) of the Chinese New
Year, local officers from the city "610 Office" (1) and the Public Security
Bureau arrested over 50 Dafa practitioners. They tortured four of them to death,
and have sent 14 of them to forced labor camps. The 14 are Mr. Yao Shiguo, Ms.
Jia Ying, Mr. Wang Shiwei, Mr. Liu Quanguo, Mr. Wang Shujun, Mr. Liu Junshuang,
Ms. Lin Yanjie, Ms. Lu Guizheng, Ms. Yu Xianna, Ms. Zhang Hongmei, Ms. Wang
Xiuju, Mr. Kou Fangqi, Ms. Na Zhenxian, and Mr. Gu Xiyun. 2. [Heilongjiang Province] Dafa Practitioner Zhang Liqun Tortured Until
Disabled Zhang Liqun is a Dafa practitioner from the Baiquan County. He is now
detained at the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp, Qiqihar City. He has been tortured

Arrested Seven Dafa Practitioners on April 25, 2004 On April 25, 2004, police officers from the Yangshuwan Township Police
Station, Jianchang County arrested seven Dafa practitioners, Mr. Su Zhanyi, Ms.
Han Xixia, Mr. Gao Zhijie, Ms. Ma Shuqing, Ms. Liu Guizhen, and two others. On

belongs to the Liaojian Political and Judicial Committee, Lianshan District. At
noon on April 28, 2004, Hu was arrested at home and his home was searched. Zhang
Rongming from the Huludao City National Security Bureau, and police officers
from the Xingong Police Station and Zhanqian Police Station carried out the
arrest. Hu Shaowei went to Beijing to appeal at the end of 2000, but was detained for
more than three months after he returned home. Hu was released only after paying
10,000 yuan (2). During the same time, Dafa practitioners Ms. Gong Changlan and
a lady whose name is unknown were arrested at Hu's home. Right after the arrest,
Gong Yilan's husband Wu Bo (58 years old) was arrested at the Building #11, No.1
sub-area, Guangming District, Huagong Street. The four practitioners are now

Illegally Arrested At about 9 a.m. on May 7, 2004, Dafa practitioners Ms. Gao Chengnu and Tang
Haiyun were walking on a street. Unexpectedly, four police offices jumped out
off a car and arrested the two. They took them to the Nanwei Police Station.
That same evening, they were transferred to the Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp. Tang
Haiyun escaped successfully, but Gao is still suffering in the camp. Gao is in
the process of applying for emigration to South Korea because her husband is a
resident of Tianan City, South Korea. The Public Security Bureau refused to
approve her application, arrested her and sent her to forced labor camp. 6. [Hengyang County, Hunan Province] Dafa Practitioners Liu Yuanshan and Peng
Junnan Are Arrested Two Dafa practitioners were arrested at Hengyang County: Ms. Liu, 58 years
old, from Yuanchun, Ziyunan, Xidu District. She was arrested when doing Falun
Gong exercises at home at 4 a.m. on May 14, 2004. Ms. Peng Junnan, an Excellent
Teacher Title holder from the Xidu Township Middle School, was arrested on May
13. Her whereabouts are unknown. 7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Three Dafa Practitioners from the
East-Suburb of Chengdu City Are Arrested On May 15, 16, 2004, Dafa practitioners Ms. Li Runxian and Aunt Lai were
arrested after leaving their residency. Another Dafa practitioner, Ms. Huang
Yulan, was also arrested outside her home on May 9, 2004. 8. [Linqu, Shandong Province] Dafa Practitioner Ms. Sun Minglian Is Abducted
to the Weifang Brainwashing Center Ms. Sun Minglian, in her 60s, a resident of Yangshan Township, was arrested
on May 9, 2004. The Linqu "610 Office" from her mother's township, arrested her
and sent her to the Weifang Brainwashing Center. 9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Liu Yongming Sent to
Forced Labor Camp Mr. Liu Yongming is 54 years old. He lives at the No.38-1-371, Linhe Road,
Dadong District. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor because he showed
banners at Tiananmen Square, Beijing on February 18, 2004. 10. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Dafa Practitioners Han Changlin and Her
Sister Are Arrested On April 23, 2004, Han Changlin and her sister Han Changdi were arrested by
police officers from the Changde City Public Security Bureau when they were
hanging up Dafa truth materials. 11. [Nanpi County, Hebei Province] Several Dafa Practitioners Are Arrested On March 25, 2004, deputy director Zhou of the Nanpi Public Security Bureau,
Wang Yuliang, the head of the Police Brigade, and a number of police officers
arrested Dafa practitioners Wang Hongsheng, Sha Mei, Liu Hongqin, and Hou
Mujiang. Another tragic case is reported about Xu Fengchen's family of three. Xu is a
retiree from the Transportation Bureau. Because of the persecution carried out
by Zhang Junming, Xu, his wife and their daughter, who suffers from a mental

Appealing Against Being Illegal Monitored Ms. Ying Qirong is a retiree from a branch of the Chengdu City Radio and TV
Bloc, Sichuan Province. Although no legal grounds existed, her home was
monitored by 8 plainclothes police around the clock. To protect her legal
rights, Ms. Ying wrote an appeal letter and submitted it to a local street
office (may be the Shuyuanjie Office) accompanied by her husband. She was
arrested and her whereabouts are unknown. 13. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] After Being Detained One and Half a Years,
Ms. Qu Shufan Is Arrested Again Dafa practitioner Ms. Qu Shufan went to Beijing to clarify the truth of Dafa
to people. She was arrested by Tiananmen Square police officers. She resisted
the persecution, but was beaten and hung upside down at the Pinggu County
Detention Center by police officers. At the Honggu District Detention Center (Haishiwan Drug Addicts Center),
Lanzhou City, police officers coerced drug addicts to torture Qu. They kicked
her lower abdominal area, and the area of her kidneys, 300 times. Her entire
body was injured. After Qu went on a hunger strike, she was force-fed with dirty
water, which almost killed her. Because she has been clarifying the facts about Dafa to people, she has been
detained many times. Her home was searched, and she was sent to brainwashing
programs. In August 2002, Qu held a Dafa practice experience-sharing seminar at her
home. Police officer from Lanzhou City Public Security Bureau and the Haishiwan
Police Station, and officers from the "610 Office" of the Lanzhou Carbon
Materials Inc. locked them into a room for 9 days. Thereafter, Qu was sent to forced labor camp for one and half a years. On
April 27, 2004, her family members wanted to bring her home, as her term was
over that day. Unfortunately, she had been secretly taken to the Gongjiawan
Brainwashing Center (so-called Legal Education Center), Lanzhou City for further
persecution. (1) "610 Office" - an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong,
with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other
political and judiciary systems (2) yuan - monthly salary of a Chinese urban worker is about 500 yuan.
