Eleven teenagers from Toronto, Canada, made their way through Venango and
Forest counties Thursday on their way to Washington, D.C., as part of the
"Bike for Falun Gong: Save the Kids in China" campaign.
Falun Gong is a form of meditation and exercise that is outlawed by the
Communist government in China. The ride is intended to bring awareness to the
persecution of thousands of practitioners of Falun Gong, also known as Falun
Dafa. The rally will take place July 20 in Washington.
The riders traversed Route 62 from Tionesta and into Oil City. They planned
to rest at Franklin's Seventh Street Elementary School during their visit to the
area.
