North Carolina: Falun Gong Practitioners Strongly Condemn the Shooting Incident in South Africa (Photos)
(Clearwisdom.net) At noontime on July 2, North Carolina Falun Gong
practitioners held a press conference in downtown Raleigh to condemn the
shooting incident in South Africa and to expose the exportation and escalation
of the Jiang regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong overseas.
During the press conference, practitioners narrated the details of the
shooting incident in South Africa and the Jiang regime's overseas
persecution of Falun Gong practitioners over the past several years.
Before this shooting incident, the Jiang regime had used many illegal
means to harass, pressure and even attack overseas practitioners: For
example, the regime instigated ruffians to vandalize and burn
practitioners' vehicles in Chicago, and some pro-Communist overseas
Chinese people, backed by Chinese consulates, have assaulted practitioners
in New York and San Francisco. The regime has also routinely spied on
practitioners' activities and has put together a blacklist of
practitioners. There were many passers-by at the press conference site. Some of them
carefully read the flyers presented by practitioners, some carefully read
about the persecution cases displayed on the posters, while others watched
practitioners' peaceful exercises demonstration. There was also some interference during the event regarding the use of
the sound system and permission to use the site. Several practitioners
then took the opportunity to clarify the truth of the persecution and
Falun Dafa to the police and other related institutions. Meanwhile, many
practitioners distributed flyers and clarified the truth in nearby
streets, with other practitioners continuously did the exercises and sent
forth righteous thoughts. Eventually, all the difficulties were resolved
and the press conference proceeded smoothly. Before the press conference, realizing that practitioners should take
the opportunity to clarify the truth to nearby government officials and
the media, six practitioners divided into three groups to carry out this
mission: One group went to congressmen's offices, one went to state
representatives' offices and one went to the nearby media outlets. Though
some offices were closed for the coming holiday, with their tireless and
persistent efforts, practitioners visited every office that was open in
order to clarify the truth. Most of the officials' staff members were very
friendly, and they not only promised to inform the representatives of the
practitioners' visit, they also gave practitioners advice on how to meet
with their representatives in person. During this truth-clarification event, practitioners deepened their
understanding of the importance of clarifying the truth, as they
encountered many people who had never before heard about Falun Gong.
