(Clearwisdom.net) I met this legendary nun practitioner during an experience sharing conference in October 2003. I had heard about the magic course of her obtaining the Fa a long time ago. After several years' practicing in Dafa and benefiting from Dafa, the formerly emaciated woman looked as youthful as a girl in her 20's though she was already over 40 years old.
This fellow practitioner's parents and grandparents used to follow a senior monk to cultivate in one school of the Buddha Fa. When this practicing nun was a child, her parents and grandparents often told her the cultivation stories from their master, and the prophecy of a universal world, one in which people would cultivate in the same cultivation school passed down from the founder of that school. They also mentioned that it would be very hard for people nowadays to achieve True Fruition, even for the nuns and monks in the temples. In the future there would be a universal world, and one who could enter this universal world would be very fortunate. Further, her parents and grandparents often told her, "at that time you must cultivate in that school and cherish the opportunity which is hard to encounter in millions of years!" Her father specifically urged her before he passed away, "The one who obtains this great universal world cultivation method will have to experience several years of tribulations. When that happens, you'll feel that it is difficult to either live or die. I hope you will be able endure all these tribulations. It will be like a chilly winter. After it, spring will come."
After the chilly winter comes the spring - such great words! Her parents' words deeply impressed her young heart. Embraced thus with the respect for Buddha and looking forward to the universal world, she became a nun in January 1984 in a temple on Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui Province. Since then she had cultivated in that religion for over a dozen years but still could not find a true, great teacher. Later, she still suffered many diseases, could not eat or sleep well, and the pain she endured was hard to describe. While she was in a maze, a sister gave her a hint, saying something to the effect that since the religion had declined so far, there must be a true great teacher coming out in this mundane world. So she waited for this true great teacher while cultivating in the temple.
In September 1997, Falun Dafa was spread to Jiuhua Mountain. The prophecy of a universal world approaching she had kept in her young heart finally came true. Dafa had already been spreading all over the world by then. She had contemplated Dafa and found that was exactly what she had been waiting for, so she started to cultivate Falun Dafa with determination. Since then, her longing, waiting heart was comforted and her life became full of vital force. Shortly after she began Dafa cultivation, all her diseases were gone. Her once emaciated body became well developed. The beauty of Dafa and the change in both her mind and body were too amazing to be described in words.
The atmosphere suddenly changed on July 20, 1999. Jiang went his own way and started the vicious persecution of Falun Gong. The deceptive lies pervading the world and the horrors covered all of China. She pondered, "Isn't this the tribulation that older people talked about? This is the chilly winter. After winter comes spring." She was determined that the Falun Dafa she believed in was not wrong, and that there is nothing wrong with "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and the great and compassionate Master whom she deeply respected had come to the world to save people. She decide she would cultivate to the end and never be deterred.
In 2000, the local police unlawfully detained her for five months because she practiced the Dafa exercises. Then they locked her up in a brainwashing class for a month. As she refused to give up the belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" she suffered all kinds of torture. The police attempted to fine her 1,000 Yuan(1) and forced her older brother to pay. She became nun when she was very young, was always single and had no income. If her brother refused to pay, they would tear down his house. So, her brother and sister-in-law had to hand in 1,000 Yuan. After she was released, the police went "on pilgrimage" to Jiuhua Mountain, Nanjing City and Huangshan Mountain three times with the excuse of "visiting her." They spent 4,000 Yuan and told her to pay. She didn't have any money, so they turned to fining the village in which she lived. The village official had no alternative but to deduct the money from every villager.
In 2000, while in the brainwashing class, because she and her fellow practitioners refused to give up their belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and still firmly cultivated in Dafa, the "610 Office" and the police forced them to stand for a long time under the burning sun and didn't give them enough food. Once, because they practiced the meditation, the police dragged eight female practitioners including her outside, turned on the water faucet, connected the hose and poured water on their heads for half an hour. The sleeves of a practitioner's garment were torn off. Several female practitioners had their menses but they were still dragged out to be doused with cold water. Another time, while they were practicing the standing stance exercise, the police dragged them out again, forced them to keep standing for a long time, and forbid them to talk to each other. A practitioner only murmured several words, but the police beat and verbally abused her. They took turns slapping her on the face, then dragged all of them out again to be doused with water. This nun's shirt buttons were torn off, and her pants were ripped, as was the skin on her legs.
In July 2001, she went to Beijing alone to appeal, requesting to restore the reputation of Master and Dafa. On July 29, Tiananmen Police Station personnel sent her to the Shengli Police Station, 60 miles from Beijing. The police asked her name and address. She answered, "A nun doesn't have anything and her home is anywhere." As they failed to obtain her name, the police incited two strong men to commit violence on her during the night. One man held her right hand while another hand choked her neck. Another man slapped her hard on the face and burned her lips with a lighter three times. A big blister rose up on her lip right away. Then the villain continued to burn three of her fingers. The blisters rose up on her index finger, middle finger, and ring finger. They tortured her for a long time. When the villain was burning her fingers, the sizzling sound of her searing flesh could be heard, but it was strange that she didn't feel much pain. She knew that this was due to Master's protection. Her tears spilled out. The hoodlums were at the end of their wits. So they cuffed both of her hands on a stool that night and deprived her of sleep. The next night they cuffed her again for the whole night.
It was just like her father had said, that when the evil comes, one would feel it difficult to either live or die. This lasted until August 1 when she was transferred to a prison. Several local female practitioners in the cell all witnessed that two of her burned fingers were decayed. Her two recovered fingers were deformed and became smaller. Faced with this violence, she remained determined and never yielded.
This nun-practitioner firmly believes in Master and Dafa. No matter where she is, whether in the evil prison, outside, homelessly wandering around afterwards, or now in the temple to cultivate, just like many fellow practitioners, she cherishes this precious cultivation opportunity, fulfils the mission of a Fa-rectification period Dafa disciple-- validating the Fa and offering salvation to living beings.
