School Teacher Ms. Li Zhi from Wuhan City, Hubei Province Dies in 2002 as a Result of Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Li Zhi was a teacher of the Wujiashan Fourth Middle School in Dongxihu, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. She started practicing Falun Dafa in March 1999 and benefited tremendously. In 2002, she and her colleague He Yan went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. After the two ladies were taken back to Wuhan, officials detained them in the school. Later their school colluded with the "610 Office" (1) and sent them to a brainwashing class. Because they refused to give up their belief in Dafa, their salaries were suspended. Later Li Yan was sentenced to one year of forced labor education. The "610 Office" director then was Qian Changlai, and he is now the director of the Environment Protection Bureau.

Li Zhi's husband is an official working in the Labor Bureau. In order to keep his position, he often beat his wife. Sometimes he beat Li Zhi so hard that the bench he used was broken. He wouldn't stop until he was exhausted. For a long period of time, Li Zhi often had bruises all over her body. Her husband did not stop beating her until she was seriously ill and checked into the hospital.

In the summer of 2002, Li Zhi passed away in the hospital.

(1) The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
