Canadian Mayor Robert Libman: We Extend Our Continued Respect and Support for the Compassion and Tolerance Demonstrated by Falun Dafa Practitioners Around the World

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 18, 2004, Mayor Robert Libman of the Borough of Cote Saint-Luc -- Hampstead -- Montreal West wrote to Falun Gong practitioners to extend their continued respect and support for the compassion and tolerance that is demonstrated by Falun Dafa practitioners around the world.

Dear Friends of Falun Dafa,

Falun Dafa is a peaceful and healthy practice of mind and body that transcends cultural and racial boundaries, resonates with universal truth and bridges the gap between East and West. It emphasizes the assimilation of the universal principles of "Truth, Compassion and Tolerance".

Members and practitioners of Falun Dafa have struggled to bring this non-aggressive practice on the world stage since 1992, often with great difficulty. Although misunderstood by many, society cannot ignore the benefits that are reaped in our neighborhoods through the practice and peaceful demonstration of its members who now count over 100 million in the world.

In January 2001, Council for the former state of Cote Saint-Luc were supportive of this practice. Today, the borough of Cote Saint-Luc -- Hampstead -- Montreal West stands firmly behind that commitment and we extend our continued respect and support for the compassion and tolerance that is demonstrated by Falun Dafa practitioners around the world.
