Taiwan: Practitioners in Yilan Collect Signatures to Condemn the Shooting Incident in South Africa (Photos)

Chinese Vice-president Zeng Qinghong and Commerce Minister Bo Xilai who visited South Africa on June 28, 2004 are suspected of hiring a gunman to attack peaceful Falun Gong practitioners. To call on the world people to safeguard justice and oppose the Jiang group's extension of state terrorism overseas, Falun Gong practitioners in Yilan collected signatures at two festival celebration sites and received warm support.

Since July 11, the practitioners collected signatures for one week in Dongshanhe Qinshu Park during the daytime (International Children Play Festival) and in Luodong Night Market (Art Festival) in the evening. Some practitioners held a banner with the words "Stop Jiang Faction's Hiring Assassins to Murder People Overseas". Some practitioners distributed flyers to visitors and explained the facts about Falun Gong and the shooting incident.

Practitioners participating in this activity pointed out that we have benefited a lot from practicing Falun Gong both physically and mentally. Falun Gong has spread to over 60 countries and over 100 million people practice it. Jiang's group persecutes Falun Gong practitioners out of personal jealousy and exports the persecution overseas. This shooting incident is the most severe incident regarding the persecution of overseas practitioners and indicates the Jiang group's attempt to extend the persecution to free countries.

A shop owner thanked practitioners for their truth-clarification efforts after learning the facts about Falun Gong and the staged Tiananmen Self-immolation incident. He asked for more truth-clarification literature to hang in his shop to have more people see it.

The park is a good place for summer vacation, camping and water play. Many families and students came here as tourists. Groups of high-school, middle-school and primary school students listened to practitioners' truth clarification and signed one after another.

In Ludong Night Market, many people came forward to sign after looking at our posters and asked for Dafa literature. Children and students liked to sign very much. One gentleman specially came to sign with his friends on the last day when practitioners were ready to leave. During the signature collection, many people also expressed their interest in Falun Gong and asked where to learn and practice.

The practitioners expressed that more and more people like Falun Gong in Taiwan. The practitioners hoped that the world's people would pay attention to this incident, condemn the Jiang group's atrocities and help end the brutal persecution.
